I just installed Opera-Mail-1.0-1044.i386 on Windows 10 1703. Can't find how to modify the connection settings and Help is useless. None of the options on the help panel are active and I cannot copy the urls. Looking up Opera Mail Help on Google finds a version which appears outdated (It directs me to find Opera Mail on Opera's Menu). What can I do to make it work?

What do you want to change?

I don't think there is a help page for the standalone email client.

I need to change the account settings. Input pop port 587.

Clicking on the 'wrench' icon should show the option to edit account settings.

OK, I get it. Opera mail uses only its own server. I assumed a mail program could be used on my present server (Comcast).

                Opera mail uses any server.

Opera Mail doesn't have a server, you can add anyone(s) that you want.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll give it another try.

Click the "Opera Mail" button at the top left of Opera Mail. This is called the menu button. Then, goto "Mail accounts". Then, select the account you want to edit and click "edit". Then, on the "Servers" tab, you edit the incoming and outgoing server properties.

If the incoming server is a POP server, you want port 995 with TLS checked. If that doesn't work, you can try port 110 with TLS checked.

If the incoming server is an IMAP server, you want port 993 with TLS checked. If that doesn't work, you can try port 143 with TLS checked.

For the outgoing (SMTP) server, you want port 465 with TLS checked. If that doesn't work, you can try port 587 with TLS checked.

Authentication should be set to "Auto". For the username, if it's your email address, make sure to include the @... part. If it's just your username, make sure the @... isn't included.

Make sure the server name is correct. mail.example.com or pop.example.com or imap.example.com or smtp.example.com etc. Look up the required connection settings for your mail provider.
