Icon broken

Tried refreshing the desktop. Still get a broken browser icon. The icon displays correctly in properties.
Have updated to the most current Opera release (this occurred since then).
I'll try a reboot and post back.
I would post a screen-shot but I do not see a method (function) to do this like other forums have to upload an image file.

Follow-up: Reboot didn't help.
It is the only icon broken on my desktop out of 42 icons so I don't see how the issue is related to broken (corrupted) icon cache.
I have not had this problem until I did a cold boot after updating to most recent 46.0.2597.39 Opera version release.
Using most current Opera release on Windows 7.
Any ideas?

Updated to the current subversion and have the following:
Version information
Version: 46.0.2597.46 (PGO) - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows 7 64-bit (WoW64)Did a relaunch, no help.
Did another cold-boot, no help.
Never had this problem with any other program icons or any of my other browser icons. And never had this problem with Opera either until recent version update 64.0.2597.39 which remains a persistent problem for the current .46 version.
Icon displays in program list and other similar places, the only problem is the desktop icon has "broken" link image instead of the Opera circle logo icon.
Please help....

Did you try to delete it and add it again?
I would post a screen-shot but I do not see a method (function) to do this like other forums have to upload an image file.
The instructions are in the forum FAQ. Basically you upload them somewhere and post the link here.

The icon in the program list is also broken so if I right-click on the program icon to create desktop shortcut it creates the broken icon. (I had previously posted that the program icon listed correctly, I was incorrect, the program icon is also broken which is what is causing the desktop/status bar icons to also display as broken).
It is too much trouble to use another source to post image-shots (spent 10 minutes to look into, log-in and create a new gallery in postimg.org and couldn't get it to work. Takes too much time to bother with)
What i'm getting is what you see when a link is broken to the shortcut icon.
Opera is the only broken icon.
I need to be able to fix the broken icon in the program list.

Tried going to uninstall/change programs in control panel - Opera does not offer a "repair" option (only uninstall).
I would hope that I would not have to uninstall Opera to fix this!!
I ran across an option (I think in "settings") to revert to a previous version but am unable to find where that option exists and no help from forum on this or the broken browser icon. Is it possible that I lost the option to revert to previous version because I rebooted computer?
This is very frustrating.....

SOLVED
Had to delete the IconCache.db file and create a new one by ending/restarting the Explorer.exe file.
Apparently the new Opera update I did recently caused some kind of specific Opera icon corruption following a reboot after the browser version update had been done. Never had that problem before.

If there is a way to mark "solved" (I have no ability to edit any posts, including topic subject to do this), I would do so. I find the Opera forum way too basic, no editing, no "mark solved" option that I can see, no way to easily post screen-shots. We certainly wouldn't want to do this to our users on the forum where I am a global moderator.
On the subject of user friendly forums, Opera would do well to take a look at the Pale Moon forum for ideas where all of the above is made available to their users (including emoticons for expression as well that is apparently lacking in this forum).
I do like Opera as a browser (2nd to Pale Moon), but they could certainly improve their forum to a large extent.
Thanks for the help.
I was thinking about going to Opera's installation folder and send the executable to desktop as a shortcut.
That's a good suggestion, I didn't check the executable file icon in the installation folder - Now that you mention it, I am curious if that icon was broken their or not but too late now since I restored the IconCache file...
I'll keep that suggestion in mind next time, hopefully there won't be a next time however.
