To disable the speed-dial select the gear icon on your sidebar. Scroll to "Sidebar" and click manage sidebar. Uncheck Speed-dial. That should stop it from making pop-ups. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable it for certain websites without 3rd party add-ons. Good luck!

When you're in example in Facebook and you click the address bar to go somewhere some humongous box appears which obviously has speed dial links in it. How do I disable that?

I don't see it here. I remember something like that in a old version of Opera but as far as I know it was removed since a while.

            Yes I guess

I want to disable this appearing window.

Try disabling 'Use a prediction service...' (or something like that) in Opera's settings.

Although it looks more like a display issue.

This is the popup that I was talking about:
              https://picload.org/view/rplddoww/screenshot_2.png.html

Try disabling 'Use a prediction service...' (or something like that) in Opera's settings.

I think the option you meant is:

              https://picload.org/view/rplddowi/screenshot_1.png.html

translated as Use Predictive Service to complete search queries and URLs when typing into the address bar
this checkbox has not been activated on my PC

http://prntscr.com/fsu35g These are the options there and none work. It's the same window as @marseipan showed on his 1st link. I cant seem to be able to disable it at all.

Yep, if it would for disabling search suggestions, but what you are facing is another thing.

I would try a reinstall with a clean profile folder.

Reinstalled like gazilion times, nothing changes. When i try to search for anything while being in any website i get this ugly box. It's the speed dial box because the same links from there show in this box.
