I'm in Mexico and I have the exact same issue. I decided to update Opera today as part of my PC's maintenance schedule. And now, I've sent back to 2010 because Google is sending an older version of itself to Opera.

Same issue here.
I have built-in adblock on, and I had adblock plus on for what the built-in one wasn't catching. Turning off adblock plus didn't effect it. I use Norton as well, but usually, this isn't an issue.
Using the User Agent Switcher for Chrome for Windows shows the new Google layout, however I did get a popup banner on Google saying I was using an older version of Chrome (which I'm assuming is more the extension than Opera).
Version information
Version: 45.0.2552.881 (PGO) - Opera is up to date

The next morning (in my neck of the woods).
It's resolved here (southeast US). Formatting is back to normal for google homepage & the search results.
Re-tested IE & Edge. Both are same as last night. Edge is still fine, but IE continues to show the old-style format like some of us saw last night on Opera. IE could have a cache problem or something. I don't care enough to mess around with it.
Looks like the people who thought the issue was regional were on the right track.
Do you still have the problem? (12:30 PM UTC)

Hey guys, good to see I'm not alone...
Based in Montreal, Canada. Using the latest Opera (45.0.2552.881) on 64-bit Ubuntu GNOME.
Switching user agent (e.g. to Firefox on Ubuntu) solves the problem.

Hi,
still based in Southern Ontario and the problem seems to have resolved itself. I did nothing different. I am still on the same version as yesterday I think.

It definitely was something on Googles end. It does appear that others are still getting the issue though. :|

I'm in Ohio and it's stopped happening. Good to know it was on Google's end.

Problem is resolved on my end as of 11:51am PST. I agree with others that it seems to be a Google issue.
