      Leocg:

My question has not been addressed!

I understand why Google and Facebook are listed as exceptions, since they are universal websites used worldwide, but I would imagine that only Chinese and Russian users visit www.baidu.com and www.yandex.com so 'why' would Opera include them as exceptions for 'worldwide users' using their browser?

I have never even heard of those two websites and do not plan to ever visit them so what benefit does adding them as exceptions do!?

        Maybe,
Baidu since Opera was sold to Chinese consortium.
Yandex a biggest Russian internet service.

Maybe Baidu it's the biggest in China too.

Are assumptions, I'm not completely sure.

No one is understanding my question so I reread my posts to ensure that I am typing in English.

I understand that Opera has a built-in ad blocker (so that webpages load faster), I understand that users can add Website Exceptions in order for ads to be displayed, and I also understand that Opera included Facebook and Google as exceptions (ads do not interfere with user experience) but WHY did Opera include 2 Non-North American websites in its North American version since most North American users have never heard of them and will never visit them?

Since www.baidu.com and www.yandex.com are Chinese and Russian search engine websites, they should be default exceptions in the Chinese and Russian Opera versions not the North American version.

Furthermore, Opera should not have included any Exceptions so that all websites are blocked and users have the option to add sites as desired.

Deals? To avoid they block Opera? O.O

What does 'Deals? To avoid they block Opera' mean? It has nothing to do with my quote above it.

Also, I understand that Yandex is a Russian Google equivalent and that they developed the Yandex Browser.

Even though Baidu is Chinese in origin, what is it specifically though? Is it a general search engine or a specific website?

I still do not understand why North Americans would use a Russian or Chinese website when they are many North American search engines to choose from.

                  Yep! I replied too fast...

                  I agree with your opinion:
Should not add exceptions for any site.

In the other hand, I've read why as why they are there about FaceBook and Google?
I've got they in mind, so

Deals? To avoid they block Opera?

were thoughts based on assumptions about FB and G.

Maybe because creating different lista for different countries is costly and they can't or don't want afford it.

Also, having Baidu and Yandex on the list probably makes no difference for me western users, so why create different lists?

I guess it was already on the list when Opera's sold-out was completed.

Maybe, just maybe - maybe not all Opera users are north-american. Maybe even most Opera users are not american - but there is actually only single version of Opera, not different ones for different countries/regions, thereby including some worldwide important sites seems quite reasonable to me.

default exceptions defeat the objective of blocking ads from all websites.

The objective of the ad-blocker is to give a better navigation experience to the users by blocking ads that may impact that experience in a negative way.

Apparently, ads on those sites don't do that so they can be add as exceptions. And for 99% of the users, those exceptions don't really matter as they won't cause any major impact.
