I've been using 41.xxx version since my bookmark and speed dial is somehow corrupted and when it updates to 42.000 it doesn't work. See this thread: https://forums.opera.com/topic/18458/missing-speed-dial-41-xx-to-42-xxx/11

Today when I was paying bills I got a lot of certificate errors from Chase, local hospital bill pay site, and some others. I did let it update to 42.xxx and I was able to pay my bills at those sites.

But now I have no speeddial. Or I should say it doesn't display when I open new window. If I go to bookmarks and if I click on speeddial it displays.

With 'new window' you refer to a whole new window or also to a new tab? If you check your Opera settings then what does it say under 'On Startup'?

Is 'Speed Dial' enabled in Start Page settings?

As far as I can tell there is no "Enabled" setting for Speed Dial. There is only these options...

            Show Speed Dial suggestions
Adjust Speed Dial animations for slower hardware

I did try clicking these on or off to no avail.

Here is what I see when I click on new tab: http://imgur.com/U7nqsUk
Note that's also what I see when I click on "Show all Bookmarks." Ctrl-Shift-B

When I click Menu, Bookmarks, I see most of my bookmarks. The ones that are missing are the ones that used to be under "Unsorted Bookmarks" which was at the top.

Here's another thing that isn't working correctly also. I can't save a bookmark to where I want. When I click on the heart, this is what I see: http://imgur.com/GXYlwv0

Going to try to install a new copy and then try to sync it and see what happens.

This is in Opera's settings, I was talking about Start Page settings. The one that you access by clicking on the cogwheel icon at the top right of Start Page.

Here is what I see when I click on new tab

              It seems a rendering issue.

It really looks weird. Maybe a broken profile is causing this.

Going to try to install a new copy and then try to sync it and see what happens.

I would try a new profile.

Damn. I've tried everything. I'm pretty sure its my bookmark file that is broken. See here: http://imgur.com/nRhec29

I've tried all sorts of bookmark managers to try and delete this with no success.

Guess I'll spend the next couple of hours fixing it. I just discovered that I can copy bookmarks from one copy of opera to another so that's a bonus.

Had to reinstall twice! LOL The first time I forgot that it needed to be a USB install. I think I'm good to go though.
