configure which tab to focus upon closing a tab

Hello,
When closing a tab, I would like Opera to focus the tab on the right.
How can I configure this ?

You can't.

There is a setting for order to "cycle" tabs in - what order is used when you press Ctrl-Tab - but not for closing tabs.

Take a look at the Classic Tabs extension. It might do what you are asking.
