Most of my installations are updated to 12.18 today but not all and the problem remains the same. They have stopped updating the browser. Vivaldi has the same problem as the new Opera. Is it the new chromium core itself that won´t allow multiple installations?

          Opera 12.1x doesn't use Chromium.

Correct. If you read my first post youll se that is why I have to use the old, not updated, slightly unsafe version of Opera and not the new chromium version but I would of course prefer a safe updated version if possible.

Soo back to the original question:
How to install several instances of browsers completely independent of each other.
If I can have 50 profiles that are completely (cache, history, tabs, bookmarks, all settings and all) independent and the usual automatic saving of it all at exit so that I, the next time, can continue with the earlier session, that would be fine to of course.

Well, Opera has an option to do standalone installations as well as Vivaldi. Don't know about other browsers.

Yes you can choose different installation folders for the software but how do you make the installations work separately?

For me there are only one profile for three Opera chromium installations:
                  C:\Users\qqqqqq\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Cache

                  Same for Vivaldi:
                  C:\Users\qqqqqq\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data

I tried making more profiles on firefox and it actually worked this time (didnt the last time i tried, but that was a while ago). Thanks!
Not sure if the profiles with security settings and all work independently yet but will try later.

You need to do standalone installations by clicking on 'options' and changing the install folder and the 'install for' field.

                      That was done:
                      C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera chrome nr1
                      C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera chrome nr2
                      C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera chrome nr3

but they have the same profile folder as shown above

Either they changed something or there's some issue.
Profile folder in standalone installation should not be shared.

You are selecting the standalone installation option in the installer, right?

Nope, it's the one above that. You will be able to change it after you have changed the installation path.

I have the "above" option: to install for user : all users / present user / USB
I always use the present user option. Should i change to USB??

You should be 'USB/Standalone' but yes, this is the option.
