WHY did Opera hijack my computer???

I am VERY upset that Opera 39.0.2256.71 hijacked my computer. No other browser app including Chrome (yuck btw) took over all of my links and default file types without first ASKING.

What exactly did it "take over"? Aside from opening web pages, there's nothing else I imagine it would be opening by default. And you can easily set one of your other browsers as default, if that's what you want.

It should only take over content set to be viewed with IE or Edge and of course HTML or links, and it does ask - but assumes an answer of Yes. Next time, click on Options and make sure what the program will do.
