Account username blocked?!

Hi,
some years ago I used an Opera account to sync my browser data between devices. Now, as I wanted to log in after a long time I realized that I forgot my password. But when I type in my username under 'Forgot Password' it is not known. So I created a new account, but when I want to set up a username (the old one) it is said that it is already in use.
Can someone please tell me whether the old username is somehow blocked or whether I can somehow get it back?

Remember Dave mentioned problems when they'd changed some username conventions? Might that be the case?

Hey guys,
thanks a lot for your quick response and sorry for the missing information. The username is used some years ago is 'phyfficus'; a self-created german-english word... so I'm quite sure, nobody else try to use it. On the other hand it's nothing like 'moderator', 'administrator' or the like. In addition, it has no umlauts etc. And if I try to change username to 'phyfficus' it's not said that it's impossible, but it's already reserved. But it still have the same E-Mail address and if I press 'forgot password' the username seems not being used?
So, I'm just curious if there's a chance to get it back?

Hey, thank's again for your response and hints. I tried it a few times, so that I'm quite sure to have no typos. I also tried the email address to recover the password, but it says there's no account belonging to this email address (I haven't changed the address the last years, and I also tried my other addresses as well - nothing works). Is there any opportunity to contact somebody at Opera by email or the like?

The 'phyfficus' Opera account was deleted from the system over a year ago.
If you didn't request the account deletion on former MyOpera service then the account had been banned for quit some time with no request to unban it which resulted in it's deletion.
When Opera account is deleted we reserve the account username from being used again in new signups.
I'm sorry, but you can not use the same username right now, nor it's possible to recover the old deleted account. -
