Hi all (sorry if i make mistakes, i'm french),
I hate the new version (25 to 30) of Opera, but i still can't find the version 24 so i finally insalled it. But i have some questions :

      • how can i choose to "execute" instead of saving a .exe i download?
      • where is the option to have a Menu bar?
      • is the ctrl+enter function disappeared? :(((
      • how can i delete this HORRIBLE saerch bar in my quick access page?

      please, help me 😣

        1. Not possible. Maybe using an extension.
        2. There is no menu bar
        3. What ctrl enter should do?
        4. enable power user mode in settings and you will find the option to remove it.

Ctrl-Enter, when pressed in the address bar, surrounds what you typed with www. and .com, and it's still working for me.

No, for me, ctrl+enter was entering my id and keyword which i saved. When i had more than one for a site, a popup was appearing to ask we which one i wanted.
Thanks for all this answers.... now, my questsion is : is it a place where i could find a version between 19 and 24 of Opera? On the archives of Opera's site, there is only version 12.... very old!!!

leocg, really u already forget about "the wand". The awesome passwort manager that made using multiple logins / passwords for sites a real breeze
              😉 😃

And how wand would be related to this topic?

Because newrock106 asked for that feature (Ctrl + Enter)? Unfortunately (at least for me) it is not any longer part of the Opera Browser since Opera 15.

Because it's no longer necessary, as Opera automatically fills the username and password fields like all other browsers.

In addition, there are extensions such as Lastpass that make the wand unnecessary. Times change and so does software.

I agree! Perhaps in a few years extensions are unnecessary... 😉

I don't like extension because if there is a problem with the browser in most cases it's the fault of an extension.

But each to his own. The point is newrock106 asked "is the ctrl+enter function disappeared?" and nobody explained to him that the wand is gone so I did the job. 😃

And since the Wand is gone, there is no password protection for our passwords/logins, what a nice security hole.

And as I suggested, with the wand gone, use Lastpass. It will also allow syncing across your devices.

With Opera 30.0 I am missing passwords, bookmarks, and the functionality to manipulate what I have remaining. The new glitzy format is just not for me so I will be migrating to another browser, non-chrome based. With all the other issues of the new and improved Opera I am finding it somewhat difficult to move those items remaining from Opera to any other browser. Is that part of the improved set up? or am I overlooking something?

Your passwords are encrypted using your OS credentials.

For the passwords new system, is it like others navigators (IE, i hate you!) : when you want to delete , if you had only one registered, it becomes impossible to "save" another password, the navigator never ask you if you want to save? Or is Opera clever?
And if somebody could ask my question, i would be a very very very happy girl :

Afaik if you change your login credentials, Opera will ask if want to save the new one.

Here's a thought, newrock106: you don't have a clue how to use your computer or your software. No one else is having the issues you evidently are having. To express your anger at leo and at Opera for your own ignorance is inexcusable.
