Checked somewhere "there's a new version" - official site, but the question is, file name ends with.tar.bz2- what the heck is it?

Dug a bit more there, Steve, and this strange thing: they have two streams/branches (with different digits after the first naught but adjacent), the version I have seems to fall into the one making an impression of being a developer stream or something, but the strange thing is that there is this history, and in this succession my 0.5.8 goes first or about - then goes 0.5.4, etc., .5.7 then .5.9, then whatever.

Midori on Linux has been around a while, it is a webkit-based browser with a UI built on QT. As QT is cross-platform I suppose they must be able to migrate the whole browser to Windows... but I never really used the Linux version. I can't claim it will be any different from Chromium or Opera or Vivaldi.
Well, as far as I can tell, it doesn't resemble Google Chrome much. But it does remind me of some good old Opera though:) I installed it with all the suggested bundled plugins and extensions though... I mean it does have features resembling our good old Opera, yeah:) Kind of not fully developed in places. But I suppose it could get further developed: I registered on and took a look at their support site.

front.facetz.net wants to save an HTML5 database.
It's an "Allow/deny" bar on a certain site. Second here so far: first time the page wasn't interesting, and I closed the tab; now I wanna read - what should I do?

Modern browsers allow web apps to store data on your computer, sometimes so you can have it while offline later but also sometimes just because they want to store more data than would fit into cookies. Obviously the default setting in most browsers is not to ask, unless you've set the browser to ask about cookies. I can't tell you about that site specifically though.

blackbird71 last edited byFWIW, in Olde Opera (which I have set to ask permission for local or persistent storage), I routinely reject the request. I've yet to have any problems resulting from the rejections - the sites have always displayed fine for me.

Java no longer works in any Chromium-based browsers.

Well, that "cursor mishap" might have something to do with such objects' rendering on zoom in Midori.
That browser crashes considerably. Not too scary so far though, however a seemingly "runtime error" occured once I noticed, perhaps...(Results: 244, 14, 11, 0.5%.
What does it measure, again? ("Gaming" "not recommended"? )) -

About Browser, how do vivaldi now? I tried to used it, and i fell like i miss a lot opera 12.xx, very sadddddddd hiks ;; ;;

Is it only I who have problems with Vivaldi's implementation of tab stacking? I don't like it all, it makes tab management worse. I want it as Opera 12 had it.

Since I updated my highest Firefox to 50 some short time ago, I started losing my - login cookies? - each new session, whichever version I use. May be a coincidence - about upgrading to 50 that is.
The point is -- where the heck is this cookie management in MF at all? couldn't find any, only to save logins for sites...

The point is -- where the heck is this cookie management in MF at all? couldn't find any, only to save logins for sites...Such as they are, cookie controls in Firefox 50 are at: Tools - Options - Privacy, where you will find some settings at 'Accept cookies from sites', particularly the settings for Exceptions and Keep Until.
Increasingly, full and detailed cookie control is becoming hard to find in browsers. In Firefox 50, I block cookies and preserve my log-ins by blocking all 3rd party cookies, keeping cookies until I close Firefox, and setting cookie exceptions for the various sites for which I want to preserve log-ins. It's about the best I can do without hunting down a cookie manager that will remain compatible with the fast-changing browser designs, protocols and practices.
