I installed Opera 37.0 on Windows 10 64-bit running on old hardware (5GB RAM DDR2-SDRAM, Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160). I have Chrome 51.0.x 64-bit installed & running fine. Opera installed without issues, but it will not open any web pages. Opening the settings takes long enough (up to a minute), but it just won't open external web pages - I just see the spinning circle in the tab. I have left Opera for 10 minutes and it still doesn't load the page. I have rebooted the PC. I am running ESET AntiVirus. What is really odd is that it does display the news articles when in Speed Dial! If I click on a news article it just tries & tries & tries (indefinitely) to open the news story origin. Chrome operates just fine (albeit rather slowly because of the PC's hardware).

      Any ideas?

Not working for me on i7 HP laptop running Win 8.1 64-bit. Nothing loads, NOTHING! No history, settings, downloads, "About Opera", speed dial. Only thing that I can view is bookmarks.

Out of interest sake can you view any news stories (3rd icon on the left when looking at Speed Dial page)?

Also, do you by any chance have Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit installed?

Speed Dial page doesn't load, just as nothing else loads. I have Malwarebytes Premium installed, just as I do on the other two PCs that Opera 37 works fine on. If I recall correctly, Anti-Exploit is another service you pay for, correct?

Have you tried with anti-virus and similar software disabled?

@falfan762, correct, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit is a separate product from Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (both have free versions).

@leocg, no, I haven't tried disabling Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit and ESET Antivirus, but I will do so & report back the results.

I disabled Norton, AntiMalware, and Comodo firewall first and then closed completely with no success. Anti-Exploit not installed on my PC. Can't figure out why the laptop is different from desktop PCs. Only difference is Win 8.1 on laptop and Win 7 on others.

If you do a standalone installation, does it happens too?

Yes, if I understand what you mean by "standalone installation" as downloading the complete installation file with no further need for WWW connection.

A standalone install in an option in the Opera installer. It allows you to install Opera with no integration with Windows.

I'll have to try that, just as soon as I research how to go about doing so properly.

Just run Opera's installer, go to Options, change the install path and on the 'install for' field choose 'Standalone installation (usb)'.

I did the install on USB and it doesn't load anything either. Tried running the standalone version on a different desktop PC, it didn't work there, and now the previously installed Opera on that PC no longer works. It (37) still works on my daily use PC so far. Two down, one to go, and it will be Firefox from here on, unfortunately. Been using Opera for about 15 years now.

Forgot to mention that Opera 12.17 still works on Win 7 32 bit. 🙂

Do internal pages (settings, bookmarks, plug-ins and so on) work?

Bookmarks are the only thing that shows up, but obviously nothing loads when you click on it. Settings, Themes, Extensions, About Opera, Speed Dial, etc., do not load.

If you start Opera with command line --no-sandbox, there is any difference?

Yes, Opera runs using that, but Windows 7 won't let me add that to the taskbar icon properties. I can only run Opera by going through the "run" feature and adding the "--no-sandbox" after the executable. Windows 8 would let me add it to the desktop icon. What gives? I don't know enough about Opera to fix it.

Create a desktop shortcut, add the command line to it. Then open Opera using that short-cut and pin to task-bar.

                                          I guess it should work.
