  @bigoofman Addendum: I can see that this question arose almost a month ago. At that time @burnout426 answered with a link to a website with a possible solution. Unfortunately there was no feedback from the user whether the procedure described there could solve the problem.

  @pierox21 For the settings, use Sync or just copy Opera's profile directory and paste it into GX's one.
  Please notice that it will override your GX settings.

  I would also love this as well. I used FVD Speed Dial every day in Google Chrome. Opera doesn't need to mimic every feature of FVD, but at least give a bit more customisable features. The auto-generated text logos are really an eyesore, as a gaming browser, aesthetics matter a great deal.

  I know this thread is quite old, but if you're still interested in a way to suspend tabs, then The Great Suspender is great for that. I've used it and it does pretty much everything you're asking for there. Granted, you'll also need to install the 'Install Chrome Extensions' add-on.

  +1 for Steam in the sidebar. It's pretty much a must-have if Opera GX is a "gaming browser".

  While it's not as robust as it could be, there is an unofficial YouTube sidebar extension for Opera. I do recommend disabling the mobile view in its options though, as YouTube mobile is a bit of nuisance.

  I disagree personally. I find the sidebar very "future and gaming-esque". The only downside is that the different sidebar icons doesn't suit the style of the GX sidebar. Someone did ask for other GX styled icons, but moderator @leocg said (in Opera GX styled icons for WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger and VK?):

  It could lead Opera into legal issues.

  In the meantime, you can use the Dark Reader chrome extension if you're looking for a more extensive variety of dark mode for most websites. Install the Install Chrome Extensions add-on if you haven't already.

  @pspstreet51 thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to answer my questions and for doing it in a very kind and informative manner. I'm of-course aware that it's taken a good amount of time for my inquiry to finally be answered, but I totally understand and can't even imagine how busy it probably gets.

  @aadivishnu I would leave it up so that other users know about it and also for Opera developers -- perhaps they might fix the issue or put a note in the documentation about the effects of the battery saver option.
