I have no problem with forcing third-party avatar hosting, but why limit it to just one provider, one that demands email addresses in return for this trivial-in-2016 service?
I find it disconcerting to discover that when
Opera KNEW they were going to make significant changes they failed to contact ALL Users.
They've sent notifications to all users and also put warnings on several pages. If some users had provided fake email addresses and never accessed such Opera pages, it's not Opera's fault.
I appreciate Your assistance (at least attempts)...
I read couple of such messages here, but let me assure You that I am not alike all those guys, really!.. I understand that in the Internet almost everybody is always saying that they are purely sure in something (like this), but in the long run nine times outta ten it turns out that the most of them were wrong (or even lied)... It's actually pretty trivially and even tediously, I know... But the truth is that I am indeed quite experienced and, what is yet more important here, very meticulous in such questions!..
Unfortunately, I was using just only My Opera Link and My Opera Mail (the email address I had was: firstname.lastname@example.org ), that's why I haven't had my own Opera forums account (up till today, when I made my very first ever visit here and post) and, I suppose, don't have the Server monkey badge... Also, it appears that I don't have any old link(s)/URL(s)/shortcut(s) to any old Opera account pages of mine... But one thing I do remember exactly: the main purpose for me to register this account was not to get an email address or something, but to have all bookmarks and etc. from the Opera Mini web browser of my old BlackBerry cell phone synchronized and backed up...
And now I just need to figure out only the exact date and time of my registration, that's all, nothing more... I mean, I don't need retrieve anything else except this...
I'm sorry, but I am not a dumb, thank You!.. This my account (but not specifically the forums account) was created much-much earlier...
I received an email (today) from user: kralinutin
There is no such user and even if it was the case, (s)he couldn't get your email address.
displaying a name of Susan, and her email to me was:
Kim ?! Hello!
Where are you from ?
You probably got a spam, something that has been around since email was created.
I agree. It was MUCH SIMPLER when it was the old "MyOpera" version. I do NOT have anything against change.
These are the Question:
What if you are already a sophisticated user and have your own icons and avatars??
Why is it that Opera cannot put back some of the features that were present in the old accounts??
They were MUCH simpler and easier to use. In addition, it addresses Security Concerns about Gravatar.com and Automattic hosted Web sites.
Hello! We are truly sorry for your delayed response and thank you for using Opera's Services.
Refer to this Facebook Article: https://www.facebook.com/help/204306713029340/
After that, delete that Account associated with your old Opera account and link it to your new one. You should be able to add your Facebook account to your Opera account.
Thanks! Please post back if you have any further issues
