  @leocg i am facing a similar problem.

  I never activated my 2FA, yet opera is asking for the one-time-password or the codes, which I don't have because I never activated it. Currently I am locked out. This is an alternative account I created just for this.

  I am aware there is no way to deactivate it. Is there a way to delete my old account?

  @kevinmacenjoyer You need to go to auth.opera.com and provide your email or username. In the next page you will see a option to recover your password.

  @8bittt even though this is a very old post and this most likely has been resolved i thought i would reply anyway share the format so even if yours maybe resolved someone can looki it up find tthis post and have a solution like a span of the fingers
  i believe the format is as simple as replacing spaces with _ for some reason i had to add one in even if/though my proposed username had no spaces
