I have opera on PC an Android smartphone a want to retire and a new Android smartphone. The old smartphone has my useful speed dials. Am I right to expect those to be able to go across to the new one? Automatically? Some trigger by me?

They all need to be Opera 29+ with sync enabled and the same account logged in.

Thanks for your answer. I reproduced this bug on Ubuntu so I reported it to Opera on it's bug tracker. I hope they will solve the problem.

Correction:
Opera 28 does sync with Opera Mini on iOS. In the speed dial section of the bookmarks you need to copy to bookmarks from one device (e.g. shown as your desktop folder in bookmarks) to the mobile (shown as mobile phone Opera folder). It didn't work the first time but it works now, it least for one time sync, I didn't try how it works for adding or removing items but it's not quite reliable yet on Opera 28 so I don't recommend using it.
We hope data in Oupeng Cloud(I name it chinese opera-link) can be imported into Opera-link

You don't need Opera Mini or any other software to sync your desktop Opera's bookmarks. You just need that all computers have Opera 28 installed and that you are logged in with the same account on all of them.

Forum help works best if you include a little info to the title of your question. In this case, for ex, you could say something like "Help starting Opera Sync". If the title just says "Help", there's no way to know what it's about & people will often skip the post instead taking time to see.

Totally agree with that, but still better than having nothing 😉

Not everyone uses a valid (in terms of being active) so many of the users won't receive the notification message

It only would be a real security improvement if tho old mail gets the verification. If someone used a trash mail to register this service (which is btw pretty stupid, 'cause you save important data here) then this is just bad luck for him/her. An early announcement can be helpful at this point.

What is the easiest way to transfer everything I can, especially passwords.

Opera should import your data. Just install Opera 12.17 before and make it the default browser.

Whick folder EXACTLY I hae to back up? And which files to copy in which new folder on new PC (file names are still the same??)

Note: Opera Blink (Opera 15+) is not compatible with Opera Presto, so copy the files won't help.

If you want to keep using Opera Presto, backup your profile folder. See Help > About for the path. Then install Opera Presto on the new pc and copy the files to the new profile folder.

Is there any news about comeback of service "Opera Link"?

Link is not coming back, Opera has now a new sync system which is under development. For now it syncs bookmarks and opened tabs (starting in Opera 28); new itens will be added within time.

It will probably happen when the new sync system is considered done or, at least, stable enough for it.
