Okay I believe I have sussed out the Flashplayer problems and it looks like it was due to utilizing a portable version of Opera as well as the installed version. I have Opera Developer installed but I have been using a portable version of Opera Stable as well. When I installed flashplayer it would work in the installed developer but I was not testing it in developer first. I would quit Developer at the end of the install due to me having 80 tabs sitting there. I would then go to the portable version and no flash would work. I'd then go back to the developer and no flash would be working there too. But If I just waited after installed so my tabs would come up in developer and then try youtube etc the flash would be working. It seems that any execution of the portable version of Opera will crash out the flash on the developer installed version. So this is a word of warning for those thinking about or attempting what I have been doing. I have now deleted the portable version off the harddrive and things seem to be okay. Keep an eye on what the Ghostery extension may be blocking since its affecting the Adobe site. Its about time we had some updates for some of these extensions.

Thanks for replies! I too had been sticking with Op 12 but it's just not compatible with some newer sites...or it works jerky; so I tried the ultimate, the one, the only CHROME - the slowest browser I've ever tried, it could be because of many apps I installed but with so many common-sense features missing, I simply couldn't browse without those apps. Then I came back to Op 12...then I got to experience (again) the incompatibility of Op12 with the newer generation sites. THEN...intelligence struck me...the new version of Op is based on Chromium, so Chrome apps HAVE to work on Op...I was right, I'm a genius:lol:
This YTB issue appears to be the final issue, which has been solved now (it appears so). One thing I don't get...since Chrome and Op are both based on Chromium, why is Op so much faster than Chrome?
@sgunhouse: On that page, it says that "The default player is currently used." I can't opt out, never mind though.

What i don't understand is that why does everyone act like it's Presto or Opera ASA's fault for the incompatibility. From what i gather Presto was the closest to following standards and everyone else was busy developing for Webkit and Gecko and stop following standards and thus couldn't work well with Presto. In my honest opinion Opera ASA should have just kept Presto and work on patches for all those dumb ass developers who don't understand how to follow standards. People are saying Opera switched to WebKit for compatibility and so that they don't need to spend a whole lot of time developing an engine, which I don't understand. Most browser makers now are trying to be like Chrome and adopt a rapid development Cycle which I don't understand because it's not like their user base were complaining that they didn't get an update this week, last week, or the week before in honestly I think they were all just envious and wanted to be like Chrome and say they were constantly working on their browser which is stupid because you can't scale to a company like Google which probably has it's own department for Chrome development. So if we as the user base weren't complaining and were fine with having the good stable version of Opera and waiting until the next version was released. I think this whole being envious thing was gotten to far because I understand the point of Opera Next but really I never understood the whole Opera Developer Stream and although I can see it's use scenario it' still redundant and pointless

After an half-day config duration for Opera 18, I understand I cannot tame it. 🙂
Now, I am so happy with Chrome ver. 31.xxx. Unfortunately, I have uninstalled the Opera 18, and configured the Chrome in 25 mins!
I am really sad to leave this browser once I have used with liking...

I still run Opera 12 and there is indeed a Profile folder there -- and always has been. Copying that file to the next update kept all my bookmarks, skins, themes, etc., consistent throughout multiple updates.

Opera does say what I posted : Profile: C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Next but there is no Profile folder in there.

Obviously, Opera has changed how things work.

In Opera 18 you can enable off-road mode. In Opera 12.16 it's called Turbo mode.

In Opera 18, Settings, uncheck "Preload Discovery content" and do not open the Discover tab.

In future, please start a new thread. This has nothing to do with disabling Autoupdate.

Opera 18 uses the Blink engine (same as Chrome/Chromium) but with a custom UI. They haven't really given us status reports, but as Chromium for Linux already exists presumably it's the UI that still needs work.

How many tabs do you have open. I often have this happen and sometimes it can be fixed by operating Opera with only one tab open.
