  You can try adding opera:config back and access most preferences that way.

  You can make Opera Mail the default.

  Links in Opera Mail will open up in the default browser on the system. So, set your default browser in the system. If you want Opera Mail to open links in a specific browser, I'm not sure you can do that. What you'd do though is configure the http and https protocols in "alt + p -> advanced -> programs" in Opera 12, close it down and look at its operaprefs.ini in its preferences folder. There should be http and https entries in there that you can copy to Opera Mail's operaprefs.ini. But, don't know if it'll override Opera Mail's default handling as expected. Also note that in Opera 12, the https and http settings might be stored in handlers.ini where operaprefs.ini has a protocol version section that tells Opera to use handlers.ini. You might have to duplicate both parts to make it work in Opera Mail. But, again, it might not override Opera Mail's default handling as that might be hardcoded.

  Just to be clear, you're saying that your labels are still there, but all the messages you manually added to them are no gone from those label views?

  Or, are you saying the labels themselves are gone?

  The former is a problem with the files in the index folder and or omailbase.dat. The only way to fix those is to restore them together from a very-recent backup (anything that happened after those old files will be like it didn't happen).

  The latter is a problem with index.ini. Restoring it from a back should fix that (anything that happened after will be like it didn't happen).

  You can check the database, to see if that helps, but it's unlikely that it'll help.

  If all else fails, you'll have to fix things the hard way (save and open locally to read).

  I've checked and Opera Turbo is NOT activated.

  Currently, af.opera.com isn't contacted any longer. If it's the compression server for Opera Turbo, I'll monitor the connections because I really don't want such service, especially in private mode.

  I'm very sad about this Opera's suicide marketing movement of killing "Presto" version to be another Webkit fork.

  New Opera versions lost features used by loyal users, like F12 to be able to disable javascript, connectors and site options, F4 to fast access to bookmarks and other functions of left pane, minimized MDI windows (my favorite), the very fast and usefull feature of selecting some URL and open it clicking on gray backgroud area, size of windows in the title and may other usefull features for advanced users and web developers.

  I can understand the change to a new render engine, but not to remove all the original and usefull features that make Opera a different and better browser.

  Personally I will keep Opera 12.16 as much as I can, but the world is moving. The last Wordpress release make Opera 12.16 unusable to edit new posts, so I'm slowly moving to Firefox, not to the new Opera, because there is no a single advantage to use it.

  I'm a Opera user since 1996, I was a pay user, I would be willing to pay up to $50 a year to have back the lost features, but, you prefer to throw all your loyal users in the garbage.

  Good luck with your new policy.

  Cleaning cookies caused the problem indeed! It was because CCleaner deleted them. I don´t know why it changed... Anyway it´s ok now, so thank you guys for your time and help!

  The thing was meant for whoever made opera (if they even lurk around these parts in the first place) so that they have something to look into.
  It was not meant for some wanna-be helpers who have no idea what they even talking about.

  Rus: Наберите в строке браузера opera://flags и сбросьте настройки по умолчанию до заводских. Если это не помогло - переустанавливайте браузер.

  Insert? I would have thought the selection was due to a Shift key (as in, Shift+click means select from the former cursor location to the point clicked). Insert does not cause a selection here.

  I can only help you with one of the things you asked for. To hide the default search bar, follow these steps:

  Press Alt P to enter opera's setting Move cursor and press left mouse button on a blank area so there is no "I" bar in the "search settings box" Using the arrow keys using this combination ↑↑↓↓← → ← → b a You now see a box pop up that says "power user settings". Click on "I understand, proceed" button. Scroll down to "Start Page" area. Place a check mark "Hide the search box in Speed Dial"
