Well, in the speed dial configuration you can remove the search panel completely. 🙂 And you can just use the address bar to search, using your favorite engine. I think someone said once that the search engine for the speed dial can't be changed.

To see plugins option in O-menu, go to O-menu > tools > enable developers tools.
