Opera will most certainly retain it's ultra bland skin as it's part of the metro style that has infested software and websites all around the Internet, and will stay until trendy Caliphoney mac douche bags go for another universal graphical look, we had the colorful shiny glass look as the standard, now we have the ugly bland metro look, hopefully in a couple of years this will change, but make no mistake, the bland look is by design and is here to stay.

RE: Recently closed tabs - Why only 10?Suggestions and feature requests
Christ, I wish people would just accept the fact that Opera (As well as this forum) is an anti-user customization company, they are specifically targeting the tablet/Office managers/PC oblivious crowd...
I still have an Opera Post-nerfed browser that I mainly use for my saved MHT off-line files and legacy sites, and I only use the neutered Opera Anti-browser for hist-sites like this one, as the bland whiteness of the forums perfectly match the bland whiteness of the browser and facelessness of win 10..(Of which I'm waiting 'till a new skin is available before I upgrade)
RE: Disabling auto updates, saving certificates, displaying full url and grouping tabs?Opera for Windows
The problem with the disable option from a shortcut is that this option only works when using the shortcut. If you open Opera from an email web link or link form another program (such as Keypass)then update will be active.
Which is precisely the reason why I am so opposed to auto-updating schemes that can't be turned off by a user from within a program itself. There may be a hundred legitimate reasons why a user wants/needs to block updating, but there are dozens of ways around his blocking unless it's done within the program itself, by design. Probably the most assured method of blocking Blink Opera currently is to change the updater file extension to .xxx or something similar... but even that has some risks attached (a repair re-install, for example).
Yeah, well it seems all custom functions are getting phased out/changed without our input, even opera's very own help page has inaccurate information....That, and the DRM built into this browser hereby marks my departure, and deletion of this program...
I will, however still remain here to see if this browser is made in the future for the actual user base rather than for administrators/office managers, as I don't use this browser to surf the Internet at work..
So goodbye Neo-Chromium, hello Vivaldi as my actual Opera!
RE: Preset avatar imagesForum feedback
I would love to see that as well...However, take note of the muted look of this forum, further, take note that --EDITED-- even sigs aren't a supported function here, nor is the forum listed as a menu item on the main page, so I would not think that customization or these forums for that matter could be of a secondary priority for this site.
Fortunately, I do not work here, so my answer is simply an unconfirmed observation, however, I can also see that these forums/browser are extremely well formatted for an office environment in which administrators and office managers could find very convenient. So my guess would be not at this time, or that it's simply not a priority as of yet.
EDITED to add..
Ah, so that's where its hiding, it is hard to see due to it's near blending in the background..
RE: How to set an image to may account/profile?Opera account
One of the first things I do before I even post in a forum, is to either customize the default avatars, and/or upload my own, even when I got my first PC, (or any PC for that matter) I spent the entire day customizing everything, as I always detest the default settings of any program, so looking at this forum, I don't expect there to be nothing in the way of personal customization...
So the main reason I first started using Opera (Around 2002 I believe) was that Opera shared my own total contempt for the default settings, so like everything else that is computer programs, it's been marred by the overwhelming blandness of the off-white realm of the office manager/cubicle commoners! :^) JK
I would keep Vivaldi in mind as a possible viable main browser to, or even along with "Neo-Chromium" as they're much more dedicated to the enthusiast, and Original and long supporters of Opera. I still use it in the hopes that someone, -any-one finally comes up with way to change the horrid skin color!
I personally still use "Opera" along with every other browser, (save for Safari/IE, and only 10% of Chrome) so I would just give up any personal customization here,(Else it would've been enabled already) and suffer through the off-white blandness of forums/Programs safe for the office...
