Opera really needs to get some kind of save speeddial option because I'm fed up to the teeth of re-doing speed dials. What is wrong with these browser makers, Vivaldi you're lucky if you can even keep the speeddials visible. I think all these browser makers need a kick up the backside.

How can I copy my speeddials from Developer or Beta or either version?Opera for Windows
I've tried copying the .db files as I've always done in the past but I get no luck at all. To be honest it is very lame we cannot easily copy the speed dials. The Sync is a joke and doesn't work.
-
How to save my speed-dials other than sync?Synchronization
I used to be able to just copy the .db files of thumbnails, favourites etc but now none of them work in newer versions of Opera and I see some files are missing. I want a way to save my speed-dials on the HD external to Sync because for me Sync doesn't work and even if it did I'd expect future problems just as I've seen with Mozilla etc. Opera should have an option to save its speed-dials to a file. Why do we have so much space on the speed dial wasted by a poxy Google search which we can do in the address bar? Make some more room for better or more dials like in Vivaldi.

RE: Opera Developer 31.0.1876.0 censorship or bug on RT.COMFuture releases
Why couldn't this bug happen on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, Skynews or the BBC? Why did it have to happen on one of the only real journalist websites with real news that we have left? Fix this and fast please always check Rt.com presstv.ir, sputniknews.com and tass.ru before releasing Opera versions.

Opera Stable has started to work on Baboom so it must have been a problem with Kim Dotcom's side

Opera does not work with Baboom.comOpera for Windows
Opera Stable 18.0.1284.68 on Windows 8.1 will not allow you to play tracks on Kim Dotcom's new Baboom music website. I have no problem with Maxthon or Palemoon on that new website. You end up clicking play and a message box appears saying "oops there is a problem". I thought Opera going to Chrome was meant to stop the site incompatibilities? I only went onto the Stable version because Opera screwed up the last two Developer versions, well never corrected the main bugs of the last but one developer. I had no problems with developer since its creation until now, very disappointing!

RE: Opera 18 Cant Connect to the Internet - HELP!Opera for Windows
I am stumped by your problem if you do not have either suggestions running. I agree that overall Windows is a more stable operating system in some ways but until you try multiple distributions of Linux then you never know how good or bad Linux is. I do not like Ubuntu and it is a resource hog especially for lower spec PCs. The KDE desktop on Linux is much nicer than Windows 7 or 8 if you have a nice spec PC but it crashed on me once using DeepLinux but that could be the distribution. I used to run Zorin OS6 on my desktop full time and it all worked very well although it is based on Ubuntu but looks like Windows 7 etc. I favour Crunchbang and Archbang Linux. When someone moves from Windows to Linux they will always find things not to their liking initially but the more you play the more you will eventually come to like Linux and see its many advantages. I've gone through hundreds of distributions and I find flaws with most whilst some adore them. I come from the days of the Commodore Amiga so I do not mind playing around to get what I want going. It is a shame that ReactOS is not more polished and finished so you could replace XP this way. I just get so annoyed having to run firewalls, antiviruses etc on Windows systems all dragging its performance down and the constant cleaning etc I have non of this with Linux and the thing flows. Then when Windows wants to update, afterwards things seem to be slower than before. Always try the live-USB versions before installing until you find what works well for you but do not give up, at some point you will have to turn to Linux if it is an old machine or bin the poor thing. Try the new Maxthon on your machine in portable form and you can have the engines of both IE/Chrome in one or the Avant Browser which is IE/Gecko/Chrome with a hell of a lot of options for customization. Hope someone gets off their backside and finds a solution to your problem soon. But with this site these days you will need much luck. The old Opera team went away a long time ago, some died or one did so it is not as great as it once was when it was a true pioneer and quality. All I can say is make sure you have Service Pack III added to your XP but I am sure you have this.

RE: Which was the best version of Opera?Opera for Windows
Yes the highest I have had open at one time was one-hundred and sixty five tabs and Opera handled this with pure ease and smoothness. No other browser works so well with so many tabs open, tabs which are extensive websites. Opera is too interested in sucking up to Apple slaves with their iPads instead of making a good all rounder Windows browser. Its time Opera had its own unique look instead of this Chrome look. Where is the individuality going today? All cars look the same as do televisions and everything else. Not surprising considering they are all controlled by the same super entity controlling everything on the planet. Opera is teaming up with Facebook so God help us all as The Worshipful Company of Technologists take over the world. Look at how the Warburg family of opium dealers took over US internet hosting with their front Endurance International, imagine how quickly they can suppress internet information when they want to soon. Opera was a very unique browser and now it is nothing different except a bit more performance. Right now I'd say Avant Browser is the most adaptable browser. My PC is a HP Intel Core I5 2.6Ghz with 6gig of RAM and HD4000. We could do with Maxthons CPU monitor and download/upload speed options as well as the IP addresses!

RE: Opera 18 Cant Connect to the Internet - HELP!Opera for Windows
I would suggest you make sure your firewall is accepting Opera and allowing it to connect to the internet. If you want to move from Chrome to another browser and you still cannot get Opera working then look at the new Maxthon, try it in portable version first. Firewalls are usually the problem or any anti-malware software like iobit-malware fighter, they can block connections to the web. Your Chrome may be accepted quickly my a firewall whilst Opera is ignored until you adjust. Have you ever thought about dumping Windows XP and going onto something like Crunchbang Linux or Archbang Linux if you have an older PC?

RE: Which was the best version of Opera?Opera for Windows
No one can seriously consider using Firefox as a default browser, it is only favorable in the website compatibility stakes. Firefox is very slow and clunky in comparison to blink browsers. The best version of Firefox is in fact Palemoon x64 and even this can feel clunky at times. I use multiple tabs and therefore I know when a browser is smooth and has performance. Right now only Opera gives me the performance and reliability to have 80-160 extensive tabs open at one time. Palemoon could handle many tabs without crashing etc but it starts to get clunky. Maxthon stands no chance when it comes to opening many tabs or even just a few its memory management is too fragmented and poor.
To the guy who attacked Maxthon I suggest he tries the latest versions with an open-mind because it is actually a nice browser these days compared to the older version. If Maxthon could perform as well as Opera and had a few better extensions for privacy then I would move over but it cannot right now. Anyone who dismisses Maxthon is foolish in my opinion I just wish it was a good all rounder. Maxthon was the only browser I came across that achieved 7/7 on an HTML test on Peacekeeper and only recently I achieved this with Chrome on Linux. Maxthon loads up a lot quicker than Opera and initially feels more free but if you start opening a few tabs well then that reverses.
Like Maxthon there is Avant Browser which is another multiple engine browser which has an extensive amount of options to suit most people. I did not punish the browser so I do not know how well it performs under load. What I did not like was the look and the skins provided were very poor. I tried to install a skin and they would not work for me. I would need performance with multiple tabs and a much better look. Its speed dial looked promising but I did not test this out. Maxthon's speed dial is terrible in many ways whilst Opera is the king of slick speed dials. I must admit I end up using the Speed Dial on Opera more than bookmarks now and find it quicker and easier for me. I like these mouse gestures with the visuals on Maxthon and Avant which originated with the Dolphin browser on Android.
Opera needs a better bookmark system build in, a nice cleaner like what recent came out on extension, a good snapshot like Maxthon. Maxthon's split screen is very good as well as the pop-up video options and build in reader. Maxthon's downloader has been improved for 5x speed downloads like external download managers. There are some great little usages with Maxthon, if Opera can rip them off and improve them we will have a powerful all round browser. All the other browsers like seamonkey, qupzilla and dooble are no where near competition for Opera and Maxthon. I am using Maxthon to write this right now whilst my Opera sits waiting with 101 tabs.

RE: Flash keeps needing to be installed and wont most the time! + Browser performance/needsOpera for Windows
Okay I believe I have sussed out the Flashplayer problems and it looks like it was due to utilizing a portable version of Opera as well as the installed version. I have Opera Developer installed but I have been using a portable version of Opera Stable as well. When I installed flashplayer it would work in the installed developer but I was not testing it in developer first. I would quit Developer at the end of the install due to me having 80 tabs sitting there. I would then go to the portable version and no flash would work. I'd then go back to the developer and no flash would be working there too. But If I just waited after installed so my tabs would come up in developer and then try youtube etc the flash would be working. It seems that any execution of the portable version of Opera will crash out the flash on the developer installed version. So this is a word of warning for those thinking about or attempting what I have been doing. I have now deleted the portable version off the harddrive and things seem to be okay. Keep an eye on what the Ghostery extension may be blocking since its affecting the Adobe site. Its about time we had some updates for some of these extensions.
Thanks for your information!

RE: Flash keeps needing to be installed and wont most the time! + Browser performance/needsOpera for Windows
I have sussed out why the Adobe website would not let me even attempt to install flashplayer. The extension GHOSTERY was the problem! Now I have a new problem where by flash will not work once installed and not one of my Operas recognizes any flash on the system.

RE: Which was the best version of Opera?Opera for Windows
That may be so about older Maxthon's but I will say that I used to try Maxthon in the past and it was dire and just a clone of Internet Explorer. Just give it a try in portable form and see what you think.

Flash keeps needing to be installed and wont most the time! + Browser performance/needsOpera for Windows
I keep finding I have to reinstall Flashplayer. I usually use Opera Developer and I did not encounter this problem till recently. Also when I get directed to Adobe's installer for flash and opera it will not let me install. I used to have to use the stable version to get an install. Now even the stable version will not let me install from Adobe. What in the hell is going wrong? I am very frustrated with this Opera browser and I tried Maxthon but unfortunately where Maxthon destroys Opera it lacks in performance and reliability. What are we to do when we just cannot find a nice all round browser? All I see is endless new versions of Opera with new engines but no new features as such and now problems with flash etc. I have started to use Maxthon for basic browsing and then Opera for when I have to open numerous tabs which can sometimes end up being 85-165, yes you read correctly and only Opera seems to handle this amount with ease. Why can we not have a hybrid of Maxthon and Opera working nicely so people can relax and just browse and stop belly aching. It is so annoying when negatives crop up constantly and nothing ever gets changed. I often wonder why browser makers have forums since they do not listen to their users. I see Maxthon community worshiping their browser like it is a God and it is not when it comes to performance. If you start highlighting serious issues with the browser they will just pass it off as a hardcore user who does not matter. They will do this whilst attacking Opera users here as being gatekeepers, they too are gatekeepers and thus I cannot see Maxthon improving to where I need to use it constantly. A similar thing happens here except nothing ever changes with Opera other than the web engine. We see nothing built in and simple things like bookmarks still not being addressed. Only recently the search engines were improved, these are the most basic of things. If only I could code I would combine Maxthon with Opera and some for you all and do away with these corporate browsers altogether. Unfortunately I cannot code but I am a perfectionist
Lets get it together for once and get a proper browser. We need more extensions on Opera too, most from chrome will not work without alteration so do not bother with that download from chrome extension. Avant has some nice features but is let down by its looks and I could not find a way to present your chrome addons etc. Can we have a good hybrid from someone ?!!?!?

RE: Which was the best version of Opera?Opera for Windows
There is no point in using older versions of Opera, the web is changing and old versions will not cut the mustard. The new Opera is sensational on performance even with 165 extensive tabs opened. I regularly do this and have no problems and still silky smooth scrolling etc. I tried to achieve this with Maxthon but it cannot handle multiples of tabs without crashing and spluttering which was highly disappointing since Maxthon wipes the floor with Opera in browser functionality and friendliness. If you are discouraged from using the new Opera then all I can suggest is move over the Maxthon since I have not found any other browser worth bothering with and even Maxthon does not cut the full mustard. We need a hybrid of Opera and Maxthon combined. Maxthon will suffer because its community are not interested in hearing about its downsides since they worship the browser like it is a god and for someone like me it falls short but has a lot of potential. For many people Maxthon will be great but I still need Opera.
