I don't like the new startpage. It's not suitable for working "productively". Because I can't see the content from the website!

For exmaple:
I have two different pages from one website in my speeddial. Both have the same icon. I can't see the content. I have to move over with the mouse, to see the "name" of the website.

The new startpage is bad. I hope, Opera will delete this or I hope Opera let me decide what I want to use (the old or the new startpage).

With the new startpage is Opera unusable for me! But at the moment I can use the old startpage.

Because of that, I opened this discussion and I hope, that the developers hear us/me. The new (experimental) start page, is (in my opinion) unusable without previews.

For me, all icons for the extensions looks normal. I'm using the last Opera dev version (25.0.1597.0) on my ArchLinux machine with KDE Plasma Desktop (4.14.x).

Maybe you should try a new profile (exit Opera -> rename "~/.config/opera-developer/" -> start Opera). Now you have a new profile and you should try to install a few extensions. Same problem?

I miss previews in the new startpage (speeddial). That's confusing, because I can't see the website.

For example: The desktop team blog of Opera and this forum have the same icon in the new start page and I have to move over the icons with my mouse, to see the name of the site.

Is there a plan to get the preview back?

I don't think you need to, though if they want to do it, it's okay. There's a safety issue, because Opera limited the Search engines to 5 to prevent malware from hijacking searches.

It's just sarcastic and ironic, right? Because there is/are NO safety issue. That's a big usability issue!

Don't understand me wrong, I like the new Opera more than Chome/Chromium. And I think the new Opera is on the right way, but at the moment it's only my second browser. My first browser in mainly Firefox and somtimes the old Opera (12, with Presto engine).

I have test it with a new profile and with the options "Activate", "Deactivate" and "Standard". But nothing helps.

If I reinstall the old dev version (24.0.1543.0) there are no problems -> the font looks good! The problem affects only the new dev version (24.0.1555.0).

The font is clear and it's good to read.

The font (e.g. the headings for the different option-sections) is a little bit unclear.

I'm using Opera on ArchLinux with KDE Plasma Desktop.

There was no problems with the last dev version, but with the new one (24.0.1555.0) I have problems on all websites. The font looks blurred and diffuse and I have found another problem on a german website (please see the chart on the first site).

I have test it with a new profile -> same problem!

"opera://flags/#proprietary-media-types-playback" is at this time not available for Linux, but I hope, this feature is coming very soon for Linux.

In Opera 24 (Developer) middle clicking on the buttons is the same like in Chrome and Firefox (back/forward/home buttons opens previous/next/home page in a new background tab).

I'm using Opera 24 on ArchLinux.

It's possible to add an option to start always a new tab if I press ENTER in adressbar to open a website? At the moment I have to press ALT+ENTER to open something from the adressbar in a new tab, but I would be change this behaviour.

I hope Opera will add a feature to change the standard search engines. The only solution for me at the time is, rename the "default_partner_content.json" in the resources directory. But this is after every update necessary, so I hope there is coming an option to change the standard search engines.

I prefer DuckDuckGo but I can't change Google as standard (rename or delete "default_partner_content.json" doesn't help). That's really bad!

I have installed the new Opera version for Linux (Arch). It's possible to enter something in adressbar and open in a new tab (next to active tab)?

At the the moment I have to press Alt+Mouse, but I searching for a possibility to open something from the adressbar in a new tab without pressing "Alt".

Is that possible (maybe in future release)?
