@mfd-texas Yeah I don't believe it's regional restrictions. Other AIs work perfectly in Texas, and if it was an actual restriction it would be added to the list on the website.
I sure hope the development team is aware of this issue, but it's been nearly a year now so I think they just don't care. -

They really aren't reading this forum, are they?

@chasepbrock Yeah still not available in SA either. I've opened a bug report on their help center but it was marked as done with no explanation and without any fix. Tried opening another one three weeks ago, still nothing... It's very disappointing how little they care about this issue, and quite upsetting to see them advertising Aria on social media while ignoring the most reported bug.

Is anyone at Opera listening?
It's been six months with no response (nor fix, obviously), so I guess that answers that

@thelittleevil Iran is one of the countries for which it is intended for the service to not be available

@bestcodes Except it's the US, and it's available in the rest of the US. I could hear that it's a state law, but all other AIs work perfectly fine (ChatGPT, Bard...) so... doubt it. And if it was the case, surely Opera would have answered by now, this was reported back in what, July?

@tap-g The built-in VPN messes up other things for me so I'd rather not use it. And yes, using another tool is a workaround, but Opera fixing their tool would be preferable :p

@aeroboy10 Yeah I use AT&T fiber too for Wi-Fi, but I don't use AT&T for mobile network, so the issue might indeed be that they're blocking one of the state's major Internet provider's IPs for some reason

RE: This service is currently not available in your region message when accessing from some US regionsBugs
@aeroboy10 Were you using WiFi in both cases? I just tried on my Android phone, over WiFi I have the same issue (not available in your region), but over mobile data it's working correctly.

@aeroboy10 It's on PC for me.

It's been four months are these bug reports being read at all?

RE: This service is currently not available in your region message when accessing from some US regionsBugs
@chris-ithink We really shouldn't have to use a VPN to bypass the georestriction in an allegedly supported country though...
It's been like that for three months and there's been no comment on this "bug". I filed a bug report but it has been marked as done without any comment (nor fix), it's disappointing to see they released that as a gimmick and not an actual feature they plan on supporting, it was promising. -
RE: This service is currently not available in your region message when accessing from some US regionsBugs
@chuzordie Are you in Texas, too? It seems there's a bug (hopefully) where Texas is considered an unsupported country...

RE: This service is currently not available in your region message when accessing from some US regionsBugs
@leocg So if you moved my question here does it mean that it is a bug and not intentional?
If so could we know the status of its resolution? That doesn't sound like one that would take two months to solve? -
RE: This service is currently not available in your region message when accessing from some US regionsBugs
Hi!
So apparently Aria is not available in Texas (despite the FAQ not listing it as a restricted region).
It was reported as a bug but there hasn't been any fix nor comment in two months so I would assume that restriction is intentional? Is there any chance we could have the reason behind that restriction? Is there a state law that prohibits Aria from operating here and that somehow doesn't affect ChatGPT and the like?
Thanks in advance -

RE: [Request] Tab to search on Facebook, Youtube, etc.Opera GX
@theheroofmc You can create "search engines" by right-clicking the search field (for example YouTube's) and clicking "Create search engine...". Then when you type the search engine's shortcut in the address bar (for example, "you"), you can insert a space followed by your search terms (for example, "you cat meowing" to search cat meowing videos on YouTube).
It does bother me though that you have to use a space instead of the tab key...
