RE: What's going on in Russia?Lounge
Tragically critics and opponents haven't suddenly being violently evaporating, neither have independent journalists, and that's not to mention how many of Putin's early 'friends' aren't around anymore. And just to cheer us all up there seems to be no shortage of gleeful nationalists and flag wavers in support. God save us from nationalists, no matter which country they inhabit.

RE: Bing as Default Search Engine in Opera 26Opera for Windows
Opera Beta has the option for Bing as default search again so I guess the next stable version will have it too if you care to wait or install the Beta version.

....and we have the choice of Bing as a default search again. What an extraordinary lack of choice that was.

RE: OPera 12.17 crshing on BBC radio iPlayerOpera for Windows
Same here, it's been happening for the past two or three days with 'Listen again'. It shuts down the whole browser then the report box appears. The page layout changed at about the same time as these crashes began, I think.

RE: General ChatLounge
I think ASA is the Norwegian equivalent to Ltd (limited); if the company goes bankrupt investors might lose their investments but the owners aren't liable for the total loss. Something close to that.

Listening to episode 2, of 2, of James Fenimore Cooper's The Spy, dramatised. Will Henry Wharton be hanged, can General Washington be found in time to issue a pardon? BBC R 4 Extra.

Thanks linuxmint7
I didn't see them initially, they're rather small and light grey in O12.

Opera Forums has a new look! :-).............
which doesn't display well in Opera 12x, I had to open in another browser to see the thumbs up/down signs. Nothing happens if I click them in Opera 12X. What is thumbs up/down and how does one quote?

RE: Internet ConnectionLounge
I'd have to connect to fibre broadband to get your speeds but that costs more and I don't really need it. As it is I get around 17Mbs and it hardly ever deviates, it used to at peak times but that doesn't seem to happen anymore, upgrading or changing ISP isn't worth the risk while it's so stable.

Josh
BBC Cambridge is accessed via BBC Radio iplayer which isn't available outside UK, no link as far as I know, I think that's the case with all local radio. Radio Cambridge hosts Naked Scientists which I mentioned earlier as it happens. Radioplayer is partially funded by BBC and commercial radio I believe.
Wonder why Chrome doesn't show the video

I tend to forget the quotation thingy on this forum ever since it changed from My Opera, I'm sure I'll adapt...eventually.

Opera 12.17, but it's the same with Firefox in my case. Could it be a regional thing that stops it showing?

@ joshl
Rainspa, I can't see any video.
I wonder why, I can. I thought just the url would show but it's the video I see. Anyway it's Gemma Ray - 100MPH (in 2nd Gear) uploaded by Bronze Rat Records.

Checking my BBC Radio Drama feeds, in Notes I'm adding and deleting stuff, BBC again, talk radio, and just finished downloading Naked Scientists podcasts, strangely enough from the BBC. Got a couple of forums open and going to clean up webmail shortly. I've also just stumbled on this in youtube, never heard of her before and rather liked the video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9ft3S10Euw

RE: Notes ExtensionOpera add-ons
It's one of the reasons I don't use Blink, Browse ++ wasn't a substitute for me either.. Firefox has a decent note add-on (Quickfox) but the native Presto one is hard to beat. Hallvord created this but I've not tried it, maybe you'd like to give it a go: https://web.archive.org/web/20131115053705/http://my.opera.com/hallvors/blog/2013/07/08/opera-notes-extension-2

RE: Is Opera dead for good?Future releases
For crying out loud, all I did is post a link, it's not an opinion it's a news item, if your so upset by it please complain to Bloomberg who made the video available.

RE: Is Opera dead for good?Future releases
Listening to Opera's CEO it seems that Opera browser is really concentrating on the mobile market so their desktop browser as we've known it is no longer particularly relevant anymore.
