@burnout426 Yes mate the issue was with my windows it was even showing for google serp results and same goes for facebook... then i had replaced my hard disk and installed new windows it's now fine

@sgunhouse Thank you. Yes, the notes feature is an extension. No luck, though, finding the old notes. As for bookmarks, I'm restoring them--laboriously--by poring over my History, which thankfully wasn't trashed.

Incidentally, this seems to have stemmed from an unintended installation of "RelevantKnowledge". -- Paul
