Why don't we all duplicate our posts in this forum to the Opera blog where maybe the devs will see the depth of feeling on this so called improvement. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to add your comments.

RE: Opera 70 comes with easier access to closed tabs, simpler searches, and new Workspace iconsBlogs
Well, my browser just updated to version 70 today. The recently closed tabs button is gone. I'm already missing it. Please reinstate it or at least give us the option to enable it. We can't all be wrong!

@leocg said in Where is the "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu" button on the top right?:
@lynnpin It's not in Opera for Windows, so it can't appear there. In Opera for Computers, it is the first topic after the pinned ones.
Thanks, I see it now.

This thread is in constant use, has 349 posts and 1.8k views and yet it isn't at the top of the first page of results. I wonder why?

RE: Where is the "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu" button on the top right?Opera for computers
I haven't needed to post on here for several years but I felt so strongly about this that I've had to sign in and update my profile just to do so.
As you can probably guess, I didn't realise how much I used the Recently Closed Tabs drop down arrow until it disappeared. So add my name to the list of disgruntled users. In the meantime I have disabled the flag and hope the developers realised their mistake for future updates.
Thanks for the tip to change it temporarily.

RE: Clicking email links opens Opera 26 but I want Opera 12.17 as default - how do I change it?Opera for Windows
...And, go into "Alt + p -> advanced -> programs" in Opera 12.17 and make sure it's set to check for defaults. Also, click "details" there and if it doesn't load "default programs" in windows and has a bunch of checkboxes for file types and protocols instead, make sure http and https are checked and click ok.
Switching on this morning still didn't solve the problem but Burnout's suggestion above did work without reinstalling everything.
Thank you very much!

RE: Clicking email links opens Opera 26 but I want Opera 12.17 as default - how do I change it?Opera for Windows
I'm not sure how to check for that but I have been fiddling with the settings in Windows and have just clicked another link in an email to test it and, once again, Opera 26 started up and even asked if I wanted it to be the default browser! So why is it the default browser when it thinks it isn't!
I'm closing my computer now but tomorrow I will see if closing the browsers down and restarting Windows will have any effect.

RE: Clicking email links opens Opera 26 but I want Opera 12.17 as default - how do I change it?Opera for Windows
I have always had Opera 12 as my default browser, including in Windows settings, and it is only since installing Opera 26 that this is happening.

Clicking email links opens Opera 26 but I want Opera 12.17 as default - how do I change it?Opera for Windows
Every time I click a link in an email it starts up Opera 26, even though I have Opera 12.17 already open. I've looked all over in both browser settings and in Outlook Express settings but can't find an option to change this. Can anyone help please?

RE: Can I Stop Automatic Updates?Opera for Windows
Thanks for your help guys. It looks like I'm going to revert back to Opera 12.17 as it's a lot faster even though I have problems with some sites. And Adobe Reader still works too.

Can I Stop Automatic Updates?Opera for Windows
How can I stop Opera updating automatically? I had Opera 25 and now I've got Opera 26 but there was no warning. I like to choose when I upgrade myself but can't find any setting to change this. Is it still possible please?
Since this update I also have the same problem with Adobe Reader as Greenskyline although I did find disabling it brought up the inbuilt Opera pdf reader but this is just another reason why I prefer to do my own updates when I'm ready and not when Opera thinks it should happen!

RE: Opera.exe running 10 times in Windows Task Manager ProcessesOpera for Windows
Well I'll see how it goes today but if it slows down to a standstill again I'll have to call it a day and go back to 12.17. The processes just seem to keep building up and getting bigger the longer I'm online.
I've also got the latest Firefox so if my system can run that without problems I would assume it should be able to manage Opera 25 too?

RE: Opera.exe running 10 times in Windows Task Manager ProcessesOpera for Windows
Reluctantly just parted with Presto. At this particular moment I have 9 opera.exe running. I have 4 tabs open and the only extension I have is Adblock Plus with no plugins. I think I may have to go back to Opera 12.17 as this is really slow.

Opera.exe running 10 times in Windows Task Manager ProcessesOpera for Windows
Yikes, I have just upgraded to Opera 25 yesterday and today it's running very slow.
I thought I'd take a look in the Windows Task Manager and I was amazed to see opera.exe running 10 times in the "Processes" tab but it shows up only once in the "Applications" tab.
What is going on please?
I'm running on XP (I know!) so is it not compatible or something?

RE: Can I open new tabs in the foreground instead of in the background?Opera for Windows
So I'll just have to get used to it or use the keyboard shortcut then. That's a pity. I'm not one for using extensions but I may have a look at them, thanks.

RE: Can I open new tabs in the foreground instead of in the background?Opera for Windows
Thanks for that l33t4opera. Ctrl+Shift+Click works fine but it's a bit fiddly. What I really wanted was for it to work by default by changing a setting somewhere but it doesn't seem to be available under Settings.

Can I open new tabs in the foreground instead of in the background?Opera for Windows
Just upgraded to Opera 25 from 12.17 which opens tabs in the foregound. Is there a way to make Opera 25 do the same?
