Not sure what else you can try. But what exactly does it say? Just no connection to the camera?

Hello everyone,

I am currently on the look out for a new phone. On a website I found the Xiaomi Mi 10T and the Google Pixel 4 XL.

From a few posts i have already red it says that Opera might not be available. Does anyone know if it is in the app store that these two phones use? And if anyone has any issues with opera on these or similar phones I am happy for some insights as I love using opera and I dont want to switch to something else because it does not work on the phone I have.

@yeswap I am using an honor phone so kinda huawai
But mine works with the Google Play store.
Is it possible to use opera from this one even if it is not the official app store or is that not possible?

Just unless the issue might get fixed but at least then you dont have to be annoyed when it does not work. But as I said I am not sure about the App Gallery. I never used it so it was just a suggestion.

@vijayganeshpc Not sure if you fixed the issue by now. But do you use an internal webcam or an external one?

If it is an internal one please check your computer settings and try the camera without being in a meeting. Just so you can check whether the issue is the camera itself or google meets.

If it is google meets you can check the setting in there. Maybe you blocked it and have to unblock it first again before you can turn it on.

I am not sure if this helps but can you go to Google Meets and then go to the camera settings? Maybe it is blocked somehow. I had the same issue on Zoom but on every single browser I used and apparently I once clicked a button that did not allow the camera usage.

Because if you have the same issue in Chrome maybe that could be a reason. Also try the camera if you are not in a meeting and look for the camera settings in your computer. Maybe there is something blocked for certain browsers.

After reading all the posts I am not sure what is going on.
But I guess thanks to the opera team for making it work for me

It seems to work fine for me which is weird.

@dihlen so you just had to install it for all users and in Program Files?

Sounds interesting and I can also not tell what the problem was but I guess its good to know in case anyone else faces the same issue

@dihlen did you use the system control manager for deleting opera from your computer? Usually that deletes everything.
But you can also look for "opera" in the search bar and deinstall all folders that might still be there manually.

@dihlen did you try delteing opera with the help of the system control page? There it should delete everything that belongs to opera. But after that better check if all folders are really deleted and then a new isntallation should be possible
