@leocg What can I say.... I had a problem prior with Opera on YouTube, it was freezing the cursor when I paused the video. That resolved by itself somehow..... It also doesn't go to send feedback on YouTube, I get the:
"403. That’s an error. We're sorry, but you do not have access to this page. That’s all we know."

Now after the update, for me here, it is a mess, you cannot even watch a video without complications, and it is not like I have an old set up on my Computer........ Thank you for the interest though.

@pavelopdev Great idea. I didn't know that you can put a translator on the sidebar.....You probably know it, but the translation function that hawk22 is talking about in Chrome, is a little different and it is like this:

When you go to a page with a foreign language, an icon comes out near the "Add to bookmarks" icon and asks you if you want to translate the page

And it translates the whole text without changing the pages integrity . And i think this is a great feature.

After the last update, I am experiencing a problem. Whenever I scroll down on a YouTube video to see the comments and scroll up again to the video section, the video has frozen still and the sound is normal. Sometimes it starts going fast, but the sound is again normal. And sometimes it stops entirely and stays still with the reloading icon. The same thing started happening to Chrome after the update it did those last days also. It doesn't happen on Firefox. Is it a known problem of the browsers or should I look for it in another angle?

@palx Also there is a glitch with pop-out on Facebook. When you are watching a video, not on pop-out but normally and the video ends and the next video comes up, the previous video goes on the pop-out window by itself and its sound is on and the next video is on background and muted.

Hello, new user here. I am very impressed with Operas exclusive features, it became my default browser. Here are a few suggestions, from my own experience, that I think would be great for the video pop out.

1. Make the videos subtitles/closed captions (c) also pop-out with the detach video button. With YouTube for example It can be done by pressing its miniplayer (i) icon, but the video that pops out with it, is not fixed to be always on top, so when you change the tab, you cannot see it. Also the miniplayer (i) icon pop out video is not resizable.

2. The same goes with Facebook videos. They are not fixed to be always on top and are not resizable.

3.Some sites have videos that when you scroll down, they stop automatically playing. When you press the detach button to a video and scroll down, it stops every time you pass another video. Maybe make the pop out bypass that rule so you can watch the video and scroll down the same time. Good examples are "Srviral" or "9gag".

3. Also make Detach button compatible with more video types. A good example is again "Srviral" because the button is not present at all the videos.

@felipe1234 I don't know if this will help you, but I use a program to discard pages.

It is called The Great Discarder, it is a Chrome extension, so you will first need to have the Install Chrome Extensions app, set up.

I researched a lot for similar programs, this one seems to work best with Opera with the fewer technical problems (beware other apps will remove your discarded tabs if you switch off/uninstall them). This one doesn't, and it brings them back the quickest, compared to the other apps.

What I do is, I discard all the other pages from the apps button and right-click on the tabs menu and reload all tabs, so that I have only one workplace's tabs active.

@hawk22 Yeah, that would be great. It has happened to me that when I inserted the webpages link in the translate.google.com, Opera blocked the translated link, although the original link was not blocked.

@leocg No I don't leave the tab I just scroll down to see the comments for a bit and scroll up again, and it is stuck or acts unexpectably. I've got videos for it, but I see there is not a feature to show them here.

@decoa7x Yes, and Firefox that is another browser, that doesn't have a built-in translation also, at least gives good alternatives in its Extensions Page, like for example the "To Google Translate" extension, that acts the same as the native one on Chrome does. With the icon integrated in the search bar, appearing when it detects a foreign language or a Language you have opted it to always translate, does a fairly good translation job, has many extras like voice reading the highlighted text(not so good job on that one) and doesn't face any restriction, while you're using it in sensitive data pages.

I too, would never choose Yandex but for another reason, because I tried it and in my language(Greek), in the best way I can put it, the translation results are at best, below average.

Opera unfortunately, is the only one, out of the browsers that are considered Top Users' Choice, that does not have an embedded translator, nor gives a good alternative through an extension-app.....

The extensions that I tried, that exist for Opera (including the Chrome ones), that their usage doesn't involve the copy-paste "facade", and do integrated Web Page Translation, face restrictions. For example, you cannot do a translation in the "Opera Addons" page with those apps.

I don't know, lets hope something will change for Opera in the future, because, this is a very useful tool and for Opera that is considered, in my personal perception, a choice amongst multilingual, non native English Speaking Popula, it is a downer, it does not include one...

@mrplaner For me the culprit for the "YouTube videos freezing when scrolling" problem, was that the screens refresh rate had somehow changed from 60hz to 30hz. See if yours has changed.

My guess is that because the videos on Opera and Chrome stop when they are out of focus, as leocg stated, when the refresh rate is low, it as a result freezes the video. This problem doesn't happen on Firefox for example when the refresh rate is on 30hz.

I also did a clean Windows installation and the "cursor freezing when pausing a YouTube video" problem stopped, until Windows installed the "Feature Update to Windows 10, version 20H2".

After that it has started again to freeze the cursor whenever I pause a YouTube video on high resolution and this happen only on Opera, unfortunately.

Notice that both those problems, at least for me, happen only on my 4K TV with an 8 meter HDMI cable, never on my Pc monitor.

I have 12 Workspaces with around 600+ tabs opened, at all times.

Opera for a long time now, has worked without giving me any problems, but once again today, it closed by itself for a moment and re-opened afterwards.

So, I was greeted once more, with all my Workspaces empty, and not a prompt anywhere to recover them or by using the Ctr+Shift+T shortcut, like you can do on other browsers.

Now, I have to go to my Speed dial bookmarks, recover my last saved Workspaces progress from there, and then go to my History, and locate what newly opened tabs out of the 600+ are missing, so I can open them also....

I cannot understand, why such a crucial function, is missing from Opera, since all the other Chromium browsers, have it. ​I've never lost tab progress on any other browser, except Opera....

For a browser, that encourages the user to have many workspaces and tabs opened/pinned etc., this is unacceptable. Look into it, please.

@palx: …and in addition to what I stated above, the video views have to be or exceed 6 digits, for the bug to happen.

@palx: Mind you, It happens on YouTube, when I use theater mode and Zoom exceeds 160%. I've being using SaveFrom.net, for quite a long time and never had this problem before. It being a few days since it started.

For me it works fine on YouTube, but it hides the dates from all videos. Basically the white/green 720 download icon, pushes the date indicator, to not be visible.

Fix a Tab Recovery option after crush.
I just had a crush after just simply trying to delete cookies, by clicking on the lock of the messenger sidebar app.

300+ tabs on multiple Workspaces gone. My last save of the tabs on speed dial is about 1 ½ week old. A notification to bring them automatically back is of curse absent. I cannot even do it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+T, that works on all the other browsers. Now I have to search in my History, find them and manually reopen them one-by-one.

Opera Browser, by format, encourages the users to have multiple Workspaces and Tabs open and pinned at all times, yet it lacks the simple feature of "Closed Tabs Recovery" after a crash, that all the other browsers have.

Please, consider making this and option,
We cannot live with the constant thought, of an eminent crush and loss of all tab progress…

@dwing I initiated a personal chat with you, lets find the similarities on our settings/extensions first and see if we can have any results, on why this is not happening to anyone else as stated.

@leocg OK. I now have 7 Workspaces and around 100 tabs open on them, and when I close and re-launch Opera it remembers around 1-3 of them correctly.

@leocg As I suspected and @dwing just confirmed, he says that this only happens when you launch Opera, it doesn't remember the last active tabs for each Workspace. Just position the last active tabs for each Workspace and remember them, close and re-launch Opera, and it will have different last active tabs for some Workspaces.... At least this is what I think he means.

@dwing So from what you just wrote, it is safe to assume that what you mean is, that you experience that bug when you open Opera for the first time? Yes, it indeed messes what the last active tab on each Workspace was before you've closed it, and it is a nuisance...

But I get the feeling that what the Moderators, as well as, all of us others understood when you first reported the bug, is that it messes with the last active tab, even after you've cycled already on all the Workspaces, and get back to one and find a wrong tab active... Please, correct me if I am wrong.
