Yah, I know.....
Have a few sites that still use them and their 'special' download client.
Any way to get Opera (28+) to work with this?

There is an excellent set of utilities available from Microsoft called Sysinternals. Years ago they were an independent project but over time the utils became so good that MSFT hired the author, made him one of their top TechNet technical evangelists, and bought the code.
Between ProcessMonitor, DiskMon, and ProcessExplorer, you should be able to track down what is doing your read/write activity.
Also see and check out the utilities from NirSoft.
The current Adobe flash beta installers are at v220.127.116.11 for the pi, ppapi, and ax players. Grab the flash installers from the Adobe site, use the adobe deinstaller to remove all of your flash players, then reinstall the current v17 beta.
The Extension <New Tab Start Page Pro> seems to do the job, thanks
On O28, Win7/64
is there a way?
(we're experimenting with new/fresh installs of O28 instead of constantly upgrading older installs. We seem to have come across some unfortunate upgrade behavior where we see 'features' or configurables that are pulled or changed from version to version, but remain in place with the old behavior instead of the 'new' behavior in the upgraded version.)

Fresh install, the speed dial and bookmark icons are 'stuck' at the default 4 across size.
How to change/adjust to say six or seven across or (better) can this be made flexible based on the resolution of the monitor or size of the Opera tab/windows?
Asked and answered a couple of times a month over the past two years it seems.
Look in your windows scheduled tasks. You'll find a task that looks like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\launcher.exe --scheduledautoupdate
You can look at this through Control Panel, CCleaner, and/or Glary Utilities. Easy enough to disable or delete.
But every time you manually update Opera, this entry will be back, so you will have to remember to go after it.
Anyone know if this link is reliable/persistent for a download of the Adobe Flash PPAPI installer?
Is Adobe releasing a stable version of their PPAPI plugin or it still in beta (v16 just now).
I'm assuming that any older flash plugins should be deleted if running the betas.
Having a problem with bookmark folders going 'empty' on us. It's happening just often enough that our user base is losing confidence in Opera......
Any idea where the bookmark entries are going, are they recoverable, is there a trash bin that is unsupported or otherwise invisible?
Thanks, is there a similar way to force new tabs to open in the same way?
The 'background updater' is only a scheduled windows task. It's easy to find and disable. it is NOT an installed service proprogram, just a task like any other.
