UPDATE: I'm leaving the company Oct. 20th. It has been a pleasure and best of luck!
Hey, welcome! I'm Jaron. I manage editorial content for Opera in the United States, perform market research, and wear many hats. I've seen every Star Trek episode, have a Pinterest board dedicated to fruit, and am an avid coffee enthusiast (but only black coffee). Feel free to send me questions about news, the Opera newsfeed, article push notifications, or just say hello!

RE: Over the top ads in homepage newsfeedOpera for Android
Thanks for the post @nsx . Hearing from our users is hopefully what will change our current ad practices, so I really appreciate your time in posting this. I've forwarded it to our discussion groups.

RE: Option of a button to report a malicious website / fake news siteSuggestions and feature requests
@guilherm456 For articles in the newsfeed, you can report the individual content. If we notice a pattern from certain sources while moderating flags, we will likely ban the source.
For going to the website, I agree that would be an interesting tag to have in the URL bar if the site is considered unreliable or fake. Would be an interesting extension to make!

RE: Vulgar Ads just screw me upOpera Mini
@jackob11 Hi Jackob11, I'm a news editor for U.S. Opera Mini's newsfeed. By 'news notification' do you mean an article that was pushed to you, or the ads? If you have a screenshot or other example, let me know and I'll look into it.

Offensive ads or FeedNews content? Can report here!Opera Mini
Hey Community,
I've seen some specific posts about upsetting ads popping up and inappropriate content. If you find these things, please send them to me so I can review and fix. This includes overtly sexual content, creepy stuff, graphic violence, fake news or hoaxes, inappropriate ad content, and anything with a good reason to not be in our feed.
Send a screenshot of the offending article, title, and source (if you don't mind ββΒ makes it easier on me). I recognize our community has diverse opinions, so only include stuff that is pretty objectively upsetting, not just disagreeable. Happy to review as many as you find. Some stuff I can fix immediately, other stuff within a few days. Thanks!

@jackob11 Yes, we found those articles. They're being removed right now. On a clean install, it displays only based on what others are clicking. Thanks!

RE: Coffee, Yachts, and Medicine:)Lounge
There's a small coffee roasting company (Mother Lode Roasting Company) from my hometown in California I'm from that has the best bags of whole bean coffee. There's no reason for them to have this. No coffee growing, no coffee culture, not even that many coffee shops. But for some reason it's tasty. My favorite is their Sunrise Blend which is also what my dad drinks. Been having it from about age 12.
I store them unceremoniously on a shelf at room temperature, but do try to only grind my coffee just before use. Electric grinder. Then I use a cone filter to do a pour over into a steel insulated carafe I have. Tastes great, I can make it as strong as a I want, and stays hot for several hours while I'm working. I normally drink it black and my BCC (Blood Coffee Content) is at least a .16 at all times.

@eventowanbe Hi Eventowanbe, I can review your site for addition to our source list. We don't have a formal process for this yet and are working on other features for our users at the moment, but when we return to our source list you're request will be processed.

RE: News feed sourcesOpera for Android
Hi @ibnsuleiman . While we don't have a list of sources to subscribe/unsubscribe, we do have it for each article you see. You can click the 'x' in the bottom right of the article tile (next to the photo) and select the option 'Not Interested'
This will open a page to tailor your news. You can choose to block/mute that source, say you aren't interested in the topic/category, or type a message in 'other' for us. As you block a few major 'clickbait' or 'tabloid' sources, you should notice a significant improvement in the feed. I hope this helps.

@benjsw Thanks Benjsw. Which red tops are you seeing too often? Ones with consistently offensive/abusive content I can have removed. Others I may be able to make less prominent.

@joshl Hope your condition improves, Josh! I played a few good fames from Steam in the past year (they're a bit old). "This War of Mine" (thought provoking) "The Stanley Parable" (Witty and indie) and "Stellaris" (grand strategy).
