@leocg Cheers for the info, just run the update tool and now on 76.0.4017.154

Initially it was still showing the "reopen last window" after letting it do its own restart from the update, so manually closed it, double checked in task manager that nothing was left running, restarted it and now back to "reopen last tab" as it should be.

Thank you very much again for the info and fingers crossed it stays working this time.

Well so much for it working, it's now back to "Reopen last Window" and the "last Tab" option is gone again.

Sigh... well it looked for for a brief while.

At last this is fixed in the menu.

Now got the correct "Reopen Last Closed Tab" instead of the "Last Window" in the right click menu.

Not sure when this actually happened, but I noticed it was back and working correctly yesterday (22/05/2021)

@leocg Sorry but I've been using the right click method to access the reopen last closed tab for ages now and there is NO option for this any more

Please underline the reopen last closed tab in this image taken 2 mins ago as I sure as hell cannot see it. There's no "reopen tab" only the "reopen last closed window"

It's not fixed here, there's not even the option in the right click menu to reopen last closed tab that used to exist. So hardly fixed when the menu is now totally missing the option.

It's not just "not working" they have removed the option from the menu completely when right clicking on the tabs, "reopen last closed tab" was an option, now it doesn't even exist.

Why has this been removed and replaced with this useless "Reopen last closed Window"

@zauberfritz It's sickening how nothing happens and there's no sign that Opera even gives a flying f... about their users, as shown by not a single reply by Opera in the 2 months that this is consistently going on apart from mods merging threads and mods posting complete BS about how long a history should contain items for.

Opera if you don't want users to use your products, ignoring issues and letting your mods post BS stating that the users are expecting far too much, is a perfect way to lose users.

Either start to fix your products or watch people choose other browsers, Firefox does exist for a good reason.

Why? Other browsers have no issue with this. Regardless of how many days it used to be a long history and never limited to only a day or 5 regardless of how many sites and pages I visited.

Regardless of exactly how many days / pages it should or should not store, is there going to be any official response to this as all I can see is "Topics Merged" when this thread has been going since June and it's now late August?

It's hardly a history when it only covers a few entries and then deletes everything else.

I've been having this problem for the last few days and it's really, really annoying. Suddenly all my previous history is constantly overwritten and even clicking the "older" text still only shows today's history.

I've now lost some semi important pages I needed and had forgotten to save to either speed dial or bookmarks because Opera no longer allows my to view older history.
