I am pleasently alarmed with the rebirth of the history function of my Opera (vers. 57.0.3098.106). The alarming aspect is that nothing can be named as the origin of the `rebirth'.
I fear the moment that it will stop and disappear again,witout knowing why that happens.
I have installed Bitdefender and Advanced System Care. In the latter I have blocked the function that cleanes privacy aspects.
I hope that the history functions of Opera will remain intact.

What is the problem? You didn't say.
Also, current version is 55 and 56 is already in its way.

I am still not able to prevent my history details from disappearing, after shutting down OPERA (54.0.2952.54)
And that is exactly what I want ! To keep the history details.
Can anyone tell me what alterations to make?

Opera does not offer an option to delete its browsing history on exiting the program. So there is no setting that you could modify.

Would you mind answering @leocg's question please, otherwise it is difficult to provide further assistance.

At first glance I could imagine that your history file(s) has/have become corrupted. To generate new ones please follow these steps:

Close Opera. Go to the directory \Your Opera-Path\profile\data\ In this folder, rename these three files (for example by adding .OLD) : History History Provider Cache History-journal Run Opera.

Opera will now create new and hopefully intact history files. Visit some websites, and check via CTRL+H that your browsing history isn't empty. Then close Opera and open it again. Was your browsing history kept?
