As others have done, I reverted to Opera 99 and disabled auto updates. Maybe I'll check out a newer version down the road. Or not.

RE: The future of browsing: Opera One, the first AI-powered browser is ready for downloadBlogs
My only complaint so far (after about 3 minutes of using the new ONE) is many of the old speed dial tiles don't work and now my speed dial page is 6 columns and 18 rows of unfamiliar gibberish.

[Solved]Deleted topic. In what way is this helpful?Forum feedback
I started a thread about the source of an unknown icon appearing in the sidebar.
The topic was deleted by leocg with this comment and link: This topic has been merged into More ads despite opting out?Clicking on the link returned this:
Not Found
You seem to have stumbled upon a page that does not exist.
This is not helpful and is certainly no way to respond to a legitimate question about what might be malware. Can we please try again? -
RE: More ads despite opting out?Opera for computers
Opera: up to date OS: both Win 8.1 and 10
This icon just appeared in the last day or so. There is no info (tootip) when hovering over it and there is nothing associated with it in the sidebar setup. I reluctantly clicked on it and received a message saying javascript must be enabled for the app to run. I have JS disabled by default and I'm not inclined to enable it to see what this is.Anyone know?

RE: Connection refused to QnapTS412Opera for Windows
I don't know if the previous two posts are directed to me or the OP. If to me, I understand that the QNAP cannot be accessed while in Turbo mode, just as I understand why Turbo allegedly exists (I have a metered connection). I made the suggestion in case the OP had Turbo enabled for perhaps the same reason as I.

I have to turn Turbo off in order to connect to mine (just in case you have it on).

PDF plugin freezesOpera for Windows
26.0.1656.60
Loading a pdf in Opera works as expected until you switch tabs. Going back to the pdf results in a frozen page that must be reloaded for functions to be restored.

RE: Print to a PDF printer results in unselectable text and garbled fonts in PDFOpera for Windows
@ho72 You can turn Turbo back on. Today's update should have fixed your printing issue
No, it did not. Version info: 26.0.1656.32 - Opera is up to date

That did it. Thanks.

RE: Can I Stop Automatic Updates?Opera for Windows
Just create an outbound firewall rule to block autoupdate.exe (or whatever it's called). Disable the rule when you want Opera to update at a time of your choosing. Note that when the update is complete, you'll have to update the firewall rule as well because the update executable will now reside in a different folder.

RE: Print to a PDF printer results in unselectable text and garbled fonts in PDFOpera for Windows
As I pointed out in my thread that was closed,
https://forums.opera.com/topic/6777/save-as-pdf-issues/3
I'm using Opera 25. Will look for Opera 26.
EDIT: Opera 26 now installed, get this message: Opera does not include the PDF viewer which is required for print preview to function.
Found a PDF viewer extension but installing it made no difference.

RE: Print to a PDF printer results in unselectable text and garbled fonts in PDFOpera for Windows
You can work around this issue easily:
Opera does have "Save as PDF"-functionality built-in so you don't even need PDFCreator or alike:Press Ctrl+P or choose "Print..." in OMenu to open print preview
click "Change..." in the destination field
Choose "Save as PDF"Not happening here. Save as pdf is not an option under Print nor does it appear under Save As.

Save as pdf issuesOpera for Windows
Lately when I save a webpage as a pdf using Cute PDF, the text in the pdf is not selectable, copyable, etc., because the document contains no fonts. This happens using Opera 25.xx, but I don't recall it happening with earlier versions (~23.xx). If I open and save a pdf of the same page in Opera 12.17, the pdf contains actual text with the fonts listed in the document properties, and thus said text can be selected and copied. I think this rules out any issues with Cute PDF.
Is there an Opera setting somewhere that I need to change to get my pdf fonts back?

RE: Opera Turbo, Version 2Opera for Windows
I guess it's possible, but it seems unlikely. I don't recall being on a site that would have been steaming any media (if I understand your meaning). Plus, when using Turbo, media files are not supposed to play automatically -- Adobe Flash Player is blocked until you select to run it, for example. Or is this the pause you're talking about?
Whatever the case, Turbo 2 is not usable for me as long as this behavior continues.

RE: Opera Turbo, Version 2Opera for Windows
Latest build (25.0.1614.68) downloaded today, although I first noticed this with a previous version, 23 I think. I was hoping this had been fixed but it's as bad as ever.
To test this after I posted here, I opened a new connection and launched TCPview. After a period of normal activity during which I had logged about 10MB of "received" data, I suddenly saw my usage start climbing for no reason. I pulled the plug when it shot up to over 60MB. The guilty remote address is identified as: global-turbo2-Ivs-hopper.opera-mini.net
Screenshot here: http://www.howardowen.net/img/s5/v131/p22105396-6.jpg
So I've reverted back to the old Turbo which knows how to behave itself. My data cap can't stand unexplained and unjustified reception of meaningless data that doesn't even turn up when I search my drives. What is Turbo downloading, where is it going and why?

Opera Turbo, Version 2Opera for Windows
I tried enabling this and my bandwidth usage went up dramatically. I did not find a reason for the increased traffic, but it seems counter to the purpose of Turbo and definitely has a negative impact on my metered connection.
Was this just a coincidence or is Turbo doing something in the background that needs to be stopped?
Thanks.

Menu text size in Opera 21Opera for Windows
Clicking on the Opera tab at the top left of the screen opens a menu which displays text at a smaller point size than Opera 20. Is there a way to make it larger?
