Yeah, I have it too...but I only download podcasts from TWIT.TV, and [so far] right-click and 'resume' and the download finishes.
Dunno why; 'WEFT' {Wrong, Every Flippin' Time}

Can't help ya with web-site comparisons, but from Day to Day, I have YET to find a browser that has as SUPER a Book Mark Managing Feature. Now, not everyone has, nor needs, a bunch of bookmarks, but if you DO...Shift-Control-B brings up an amazing ability for Folders, Sub-Folders, etc. If you have a couple hundred, it is great.
I never found such as arrangement in Google-Chrome [maybe I just missed it... oh, well]....
Ola. Buenos Noches.
Ignore the Speed Dial icon. I use the ' + ' sign on the tab bar to open the Speed Dial, but I only use that for opening a new tab. For me it is easier than Control T.... but that is just my choice.
[I choose to not actually use Speed Dial for anything else; Book Marks are my choice]
That's terrific news...So glad I could be of help [doesn't happen often]....
Maybe you have some 'whiz-bang runs in Real Time all the time' AV/Malware program that has to scan each file as the browser opens?
It's a wonderful browser...I'm running '33 Goof-Proof.... Although I don't use Speed Dial [just bookmarks], and no AV/Malware program [except the Full Body Intenet Condom called Sandboxie]
Take a peek into the Slower-Downers and good luck.
Hmmm... WIN10 issue? They play perfectly on my WIN7 with '33 [which I really like]
Oh... Forgot. Before complete deletion, go to App Data, ROAMING {NOT 'Remote'...that was incorrect}, copy off your Bookmarks files! You can re-insert them after your successful reinstall.
Very sorry your problem. Not an expert but when I have un installed a program like a browser, I do these things:
Uninstall, in the Control Panel / Delete the program folder from the C Drive Programs (x86) for 32 bit / Go to User App Data folders [Local and Remote], delete the program folders / Get to "regedit" {hopefully you know what that means} and get to both HKEY_Current_User and HKEY_Local-Machine, deleting the everything you see THAT SAYS 'OPERA'.
Again, I'm no expert but I've done this to totally uninstall a program...then, after a Restart I've never had any trouble Re-Installing.
Best of luck; Others many have different/better ideas for you....
Have you tried WIN-10? I did, two L/T and a PC; remaining with 'Seven' for the duration........
Why wait? I've been running 33 for a couple weeks...totally flawless! Not a single 'issue', and finally the BookMark Folders permit SUB-Folders...[small thing, but SO handy]
Climb on, Jimmy....... I think you will be glad you did
