@gdnctr I installed a recent copy of Opera One (from Opera's website Download page) -- Chromium version:109.0.5414.149 -- and it fixed the problem! Woo Hoo! Speed Dial returned and, with an earlier copy than the one which disappeared. Many, many thanks to you for all your help and advice!

Problem Solved!

You can change the icon of speed dial and bookmarks entries by going to the website, clicking the heart icon to the right of the address bar and using the arrow buttons that appear in the pop up to select an image for the icon.
