Likewise, then, the installer is not finding what it expects and is installing a new shortcut on your desktop, I suppose. This does not sound like a bug, but they could do what many programs do and ask if you want a shortcut on the desktop.

RE: [Solved]Deleted desktop icon back on every updateOpera for computers
@temkem It is doing the same for me. I suspect, but do not know, that this is due to the installer checking for a shortcut with the name "Opera Browser", but as I have renamed my shortcut simply "Opera" the installer cannot find what it is looking for and so puts a new shortcut on my desktop. Have you also renamed your Opera shortcut?

RE: [Solved]Browser data delete doesn't delete older entriesOpera for Windows
Seems to me I had this problem too some months ago and found somewhere on the forum a solution that allowed one to have an x added to these lists so one could delete by clicking the x. The problem has returned after some updates but I cannot find the solution again; I believe that it involved setting some experimental flag but I could not see that in about:flags. Does anyone else recall such a thing?

RE: I am still getting Speed Dial suggestions (booking.com) even though they are turned off!Opera for computers
I opened Opera and the Speed Dial and saw a big icon for Booking, com in the middle. I did not add it and I have Opera set not to make suggestions; in any case I haven't looked at Booking.com for months. So how did it get there? Is Opera using the Speed dial as an advertising platform? Are we likely to see a variety of unauthorized and unwanted entries showing up?

the box that drops down from the address bar if you are doing a searchOpera for Windows
if you put the mouse into the address bar preparatory to typing a search term, a box drops down with some choices, mainly the Google search bar. Is there a way to stop this dropdown if you don't like it?

RE: Ad blocker no longer workingOpera for Windows
Coincidently, just before seeing this post, I refreshed my YouTube tab and saw an ad that got past the adblock. When I refreshed again, it was blocked. I have refreshed a few times again and each time I see the ad for a second before it is blocked and disappears. Am using 60.0.3255.27

RE: Bookmark dividers doesn't workOpera for Linux
An alternative is to add a character to the end of the bookmark name, perhaps the |, which I use. This will then be a divider. I either use no name for bookmarks, in which case only the icon shows on the bookmarks bar, or the |, in which case the icon and the | show. This makes the | a divider wherever I want one.

Gmail not loading well with beta versionOpera for Windows
For the last two days since I downloaded the beta version Gmail gets mostly loaded and then sits there doing nothing; I have to clear cookies for google.com using the EditThisCookie extension after which I can sign in to Gmail again and get my mail. There is no problem using Chrome or Firefox or Opera stable version as far as I can tell.

RE: Cannot get extension https://everywhereOpera add-ons
Yes, I have Chrome Extensions installed. Actually I have the https://everywhere extension installed in Opera Stable version, so I tried to install it in the beta, but no go so far.

Cannot get extension https://everywhereOpera add-ons
I am trying to install this extension from the chrome store, but get nothing except a message in the download icon "Interrupted no [crx] file". However I was able to install the extension to Chrome. Using up to date Opera beta.

RE: Webpage appears then disappearsOpera for Windows
Using stable opera I still have the problem if the builtin adblock is enabled, but not if the adblock is off - the sites stay visible for several seconds longer today, but disappear. Using opera beta 60.0.3255.8 there is no problem at all.

RE: Turbo switch for Beta versionOpera for Windows
It is still in 58.0.3135.117; this is the first time I have downloaded a beta version. Any reason why turbo is gone that you know?

Turbo switch for Beta versionOpera for Windows
Is there still a turbo mode in the Opera Beta which I just downloaded? I cannot find it, looking in the same place in the settings as in Opera stable. Thanks

RE: Webpage appears then disappearsOpera for Windows
I think it is the ad block built in to Opera - when I turn it off for cbc.ca then things remain, with it on the page goes blank today. So maybe Opera would look into this and see if the ad block is a wee bit too powerful here.

RE: Webpage appears then disappearsOpera for Windows
No, I was wrong - they just lasted a bit longer and now they are gone again.

RE: Webpage appears then disappearsOpera for Windows
I was going to reply that the pages load and then disappear without any change in url and that there is no error message, which was all true when I first posted. But I thought I would try again, just to verify there was no change in url, and now it all works, the pages do not disappear. So no problem but no reason found either. Thanks for your suggestions and attention.

Webpage appears then disappearsOpera for Windows
Using 58.0.3135.107. A particular website CBC.ca appears and then disappears after 2 or 3 seconds. This has started today. It is not happening with Firefox or Chrome. Any suggestions? I have no new extensions added or enabled that weren't in place before this.

Opera keeps asking to be the default browserOpera for Windows
I am using 58.0.3135.68. Recently Opera started to ask each time it updates to be the default browser, saying it isn't. But Opera has been my default for a long time, and I haven't changed that. This is minor of course, and doesn't really matter, but a small glitch, anyway.

RE: mailto problemOpera for Windows
Yes, as noted I have mailto set to mail.google.com. I go to Content Settings, then Handlers. This has worked at times in the past but it doesn't now, even after clicking the Default button again.
