Nothing has been added or improved since version 15. All that's happened is the version number has increased by +1 every few weeks.

RE: So what is Opera's target audience now?Opera for Windows
Its target audience doesn't seem to be anyone in particular. Chropera is just Chrome with fewer features. That's why the only people here saying how awesome it is are the same 3 or 4 fanboys who say that in every thread like this one - and there have been tons of those. That's probably why it's progressed so slowly - absolutely nothing of value has been added to it in 12 months. Not one thing. I expect them to announce that they're discontinuing it soon. It's a complete waste of time and resources and their desktop market share is shrinking and will continue to do so.

"It's all coming to an end and the Titanic, in spite of loyalty, is going to sink."
I wasn't talking about the new version of the browser, which is clearly due to be discontinued soon. I was talking about alternatives to the old browser - you know, the good one.

RE: Opera or GoogleChromeOpera for Windows
"it is just a matter of time"
How many times can that excuse be rolled out? What meaningful features have been added to Chropera since version 15 came out a year ago? Not a thing!

RE: OperaOpera for Windows
12.16 IS the latest Opera. After that, the company tossed out every principle they had that made the Presto version good to chase after the dumbed-down mainstream market - which is an utterly futile exercise.

RE: Opera or GoogleChromeOpera for Windows
The solution to your problem is to just use Chrome. There's no good reason to use Chropera over Chrome.

"funksoulbro knows this very well. He's just being rather tiresome today, going from thread to thread and stirring things up. Hopefully he'll find another playground tomorrow."
Please ban this fanboy. All he does is personally insult other users. All I said in this thread is that it's the same for me and that it's a common problem - both of which are true.

RE: Internet Explorer's scroll smoothnessOpera for Windows
The fact is, there is no good smooth scrolling solution for Chropera, even though it's been around for nearly a year now and the version number has gone up from 15 to 21. In fact, virtually no new features have been added at all in that time, which is why I said not to hold your breath waiting, given that people have been waiting for basic bookmarking functionality to appear for 12 months now - and they're still waiting.

"This is little more than a poorly disguised set-up. LOL"
Paranoid. Delusional. Did you not read my "no fanboys" post above? You're another one that needs some help, as you let people's opinions of a web browser get you INCREDIBLY angry, which is just ridiculous.
I posted this thread because there are lots of browsers out there outside the main handful that everyone knows, and maybe there is an option I've not considered that's great. It would save me a lot of time compared to trying every browser in existence in turn, trying out various extensions/add-ons etc.

RE: Open a file instead of save itOpera for Windows
AFAIK, there is no way to do this in Chropera. You can only set the download location and set it to ask where to save the file each time. There are no other options.

RE: Internet Explorer's scroll smoothnessOpera for Windows
Maybe, but I wouldn't hold your breath. That's just another of many features of Opera 12.16 that's missing from Chropera - smooth scrolling.
The version number of Chropera seems to go up fairly regularly, but no new features ever get added.

RE: Good alternatives to Opera 12.16?Opera for Windows
Hyperbole from a delusional fanboy.
All I asked is for another browser that has the same functions as Opera 12.16. If that gets you riled up to the point where you immediately turned into an unpaid Opera cheerleader, claiming I'm "despicable" and "sordid" and trying to "poison" people, then I suggest you seek some professional counselling or perhaps see a psychologist.

RE: Good alternatives to Opera 12.16?Opera for Windows
Sorry, I forgot to add a "no fanboys please" disclaimer on my first post. I'm perfectly aware of the features (or lack of!) of Chropera, so there's no need to act like some unpaid salesman for a browser that is nowhere near ready for prime time.
From your own review of Opera on Cnet: -
"Finally there's more space for "quick startup" folders and icons than any other browser --toolbars at the top, status bar at the bottom, panel on the side. Wow!"
Wow indeed. Shame all the stuff you loved is gone, leaving a bare shell of a browser, but much like the other handful of annoying fanboy fools on here, you're another hypocrite. Every one of those people said that they loved Opera because of it's features and customisability - some of them even talked about how Presto was so much better than Chrome's engine - yet as soon as Opera switched from Presto to the same engine as Chrome and removed all those features they loved, they did a complete u-turn. Laughable.
Anyone non-fanboys care to comment?

"When I click on the More Tools menu the Bookmarks Importer options remains greyed out no matter what I do."
Same for me. It's a very common problem.
