Yes, you need to upgrade,not only for security reasons.
Opera v12 was their worst effort imo. Many problems with hardware acceleration, many memory and stability bugs.

I also was a bit hesitant to upgrade, by my transition to v18 was smooth, after a few days i got used to the new version.
I understand the criticism, the versions from 15-17 didn't even have the ability to import bookmarks. Opera made the transition to chromium very hasty and rushed imo.
They should have implemented at first some of the old opera features that we all loved. We need bookmark sidebar, more customization and settings!

Other than that it's a good browser, better than chrome and mozilla. I used to hate chrome, but opera has better speed dial, it's faster and with better looks (as always!). It lacks in extensions of course and not all of the ones from chrome are compatible.

I just needed to copy the bookmarks file to chrome's folder. Afterwards they automatically appeared in google chrome's quick access bar.

Opera really needs to improve its bookmark system. Until v12 opera had the best implementation. Now it's not as good.

The quick access bar is good, but lacks the ability to search.
I really like the speed dial, it's a good way to access my top 20 pages, but still, opera need a valid bookmark system (or at least a good extension).

I recently upgraded from 12 version to 18. I imported my bookmarks from an opera.html file and enabled the quick access bar.

The problem is that i didn't backup the html file and now i need it!
Is there a way to export it from opera? where does opera18 store the imported bookmarks?
