      I recently upgraded from 12 version to 18. I imported my bookmarks from an opera.html file and enabled the quick access bar.

      The problem is that i didn't backup the html file and now i need it!
      Is there a way to export it from opera? where does opera18 store the imported bookmarks?

        They are stored in a text file called "Bookmarks" in your profile folder, but I don't think there's any practical way to get them to HTML. The format is like this:

        {
                             "date_added": "12960928742000000",
                             "date_last_visit": "0",
                             "description": "",
                             "guid": "4A3681CE-6526-4636-9398-74E4F721ED91",
                             "id": "307",
                             "name": "BuddhaNet Directory Europe",
                             "nickname": "",
                             "type": "url",
                             "url": "http://www.buddhanet.info/wbd/region.php?region_id=5"
                          },

          I don't know precisely what the requirements of such an HTML file are, but seeing how it's already JSON, writing a simple JS to turn that into a working HTML file could be done in less than an hour.

          However, that shouldn't be necessary. I understand that Opera and Chrome bookmarks can be freely copied back and forth, so you could copy the Opera bookmarks to Chromium and export them to HTML that way, or use one of the Chrome bookmarks managing extensions that might offer the same functionality. Just be sure to always keep a backup of the file you're experimenting on.

            Thanks for the answers. It was really easy as frenzie mentioned.
            I just needed to copy the bookmarks file to chrome's folder. Afterwards they automatically appeared in google chrome's quick access bar.

            Opera really needs to improve its bookmark system. Until v12 opera had the best implementation. Now it's not as good.

            The quick access bar is good, but lacks the ability to search.
            I really like the speed dial, it's a good way to access my top 20 pages, but still, opera need a valid bookmark system (or at least a good extension).
