RE: built in redirects to wrong websites?Opera for computers
100% verified to be only Opera. I have been unable to repeat this in other browsers. I had forgot this and was trying to login to my router today. I kept wondering why I was opening windows to hotels.com. Then I realized I had typed in http://192.168.1.1 and ended up there twice in 5 minutes.
If this isn't an internal advertising feature of opera, then someone has probably found a way to exploit opera in some way. I'll probably do a clean install and hope the situation resolves.

RE: built in redirects to wrong websites?Opera for computers
@sgunhouse I am aware which was why it was shocking. Thus far I have been redirected to aliexpress and walmart, but it isn't consistent. I have tried other browsers and it is only happening in Opera at the moment. I have disabled all extensions which were not many because it could be something similar to https://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/14858-savefrom-net-virus. Following the deletion of all extensions it has not recurred.
The only other option I had considered was my asus router which redirects from lan to router.asus.com , though since it didn't happen on any other browser and the redirects have thus far stopped (couple hours in), I think one of the extensions were bad. I

built in redirects to wrong websites?Opera for computers
When I enter http://192.168.x.x style addresses, sometimes the routing is not setup yet and opera has started redirecting me to other sites. For a while I thought I might have a virus or that aliexpress was using viral advertising tactics. I looked over my dns server to ensure it wasn't hacked. What is this redirect and how do I turn it off? I need to 100% go to the sites I think I am going to without potentially malicious redirects (do you not see how this can be abused).
