RE: Thank you moderators, you locked my account used for synchronizationForum feedback
I have reopened the gorsash account. Unfortunately i can't see who banned the account or why. In general, moderators on the forums only ban users who have violated our forum rules, so unless you broke one of the rules it might have been a mistake.

RE: opera 28 ubuntu 14.0.4 backspaceOpera for Linux
opera-govno: Please be respectful when posting in the Opera forums. Read the rules on https://forums.opera.com/rules, especially "Don't write in all-caps; and leave swearing, rudeness and flaming at the door."
Further violations may result in a permanent ban from the forums.

RE: Community to be kept alive!Lounge
@digmed et al.
Hello, boyoz!
I searched Facebook for something "MyOpera Forums" - nothing found.
What do you think if I start such a page there? It might become a root for some discussion groups there - not about the Opera browser
Besides, somebody wishing from here may consider joining the burden at some point - means legitimising that by their presence/supervisionI'll repeat myself:
If you want to keep in touch with people from the forums (or My Opera) in some other way than the Opera forums provide, that's up to you to figure out and agree on

RE: Reporting and ModerationForum feedback
Approved posts are held for editing again. Is it normal?
Yes. Spammers often post non-spam posts, then edit them to add spam links in an effort to "fool" spam filters. I've seen this on the forums many times. And so, all posts go through the spam filter even if it's an edited post that's been approved earlier.

@sidneyneto Try now, please.

RE: Oooopsie, daisy!Forum feedback
@digmed: FIX please!
We are aware of the problem and it's in the todo-queue. Yelling at me won't help
There's an issue with getting automatically logged in on this page even if you have the correct cookies, and I'm unable to figure out what's causing it.
My workaround for this is to redirect users who get this error to the front page where you'll get logged in if you have the correct cookies. Unfortunately this means you have to click your way back to the /discussions/bookmarked page.
I understand that this doesn't solve our problems, but in my opinion it's better than getting that error message at least.

RE: New "Edit" Icon?Forum feedback
I've just made a new post to a thread I started here.
The thread did not jump to the top of the board as it normally does when I add a post, and no amount of refreshing will make it do so, which is puzzling.Moderators and admins have the option to "sink" a thread, which means it doesn't get bumped to the top of the list when there's new activity. Instead it "sinks" to the bottom as new discussions are made. This discussion has been "sunk". I don't know the reason for this, unfortunately.
However, I also noticed that there is now a cogwheel icon next to my name on the thread in the list, above the star icon.
Clicking it offers an edit facility.
"That's useful" I thought, but clicking on it just produces an 401 page saying "Error - You are not authorized to view this page"!
What's all that about then?!Well, that's a bug i guess. I think you should see the cogwheel and be able to edit your own posts, though. I'll investigate.
EDIT: I've just noticed that my last post in that thread says it was made at 12.45 PM on the actual post (which is correct) but on the thread list it says the last post was made at 12.45 AM, which is presumably why it hasn't gone to the top of the list. WTF?!
That's a WTF indeed. I'll look into it. Thanks for reporting

RE: Opera Windows forum error messageForum feedback
https://forums.opera.com/topic/7117/new-opera-developer-28/32
Thanks. I'm noticing something with certain posts which seems to be causing this. Do you know if any posts in that thread were flagged as spam and then approved?

It's in the "needs fixing" queue

I don't know what happened there, but both threads have been repaired now. Please report it here if you see this happen to other threads.

RE: Does Opera Forums support Private Messages?Lounge
@joshl Again, please do not use the reporting function to message me or the moderators. You just did it again, and this is your final warning.
In addition, asking about why one of your posts was held for moderation is something i won't comment on, so there's no point in asking. Speculating about what triggers the spam filter will only help the spammers, the same spammers you dislike as much as i do. So just let it be, please.

RE: Community to be kept alive!Lounge
The issue is, we're everybody registered here, but we're not everybody registered on ANY particular other site.
Should we discuss and agree on some place?
Andreas, you sure the company has no affiliates? no "friends" of sorts? If you want to keep in touch with people from the forums (or My Opera) in some other way than the Opera forums provide, that's up to you to figure out and agree on

RE: Community to be kept alive!Lounge
Andreas, we definitely need some sort of a way to converse privately.
Maybe you could direct us to a sister project with some - if there is one?
Unless you've plans, of course. We will not be implementing private messaging on the forums for various reasons. You'll have to use non-Opera sites for that.

RE: Random Bugs to fixForum feedback
Wrong tops on "Windows" and "Lounge" now...
We are aware of the problem, and there's no need to report further cases of this issue. Thanks

RE: Random Bugs to fixForum feedback
Andreas, here we have a sandwich: on the index page it's shown like Steve's, entering the board - the thread shows someone else, clicking the thread - nah, it's Steve...
Who's blocked? Thanks for letting me know. This happens when a user gets banned, and the "last poster" field isn't updated correctly. I'll look into it when i have time, for now it's not a critical bug.

RE: Random Bugs to fixForum feedback
Wrong showing of the last post again on some boards/threads..
This seems to be happening when a comment has been marked as spam, then approved by a moderator. When the moderator approves it, the comment is added to the conversation without the "last post" information being updated. We'll have a look at this, but it's not a high priority bug.

RE: Random Bugs to fixForum feedback
I used the "precision mouse movement" to select the text. I can reproduce the bug when selecting the entire paragraph, including trailing space.
I'm afraid this is something you're going to have to live with, and use the precision selection instead of triple-clicking.

RE: Random Bugs to fixForum feedback
When - with the quote button - someone's trying to quote THE LAST PARAGRAPH of a post/comment/reply (selecting it usually by triple-clicking and hitting that button), the forum puts a quote of the ENTIRE post/reply into the box.
Check it, please...This works as intended for me. I just selected the above quote and hit the quote link. Only the part above was copied into the text box.
