Could you add redownload option on completed download? Sometimes files downloaded incorrectly.
I also really want completely dark theme across menu and navigation bar, like the new feature of opera desktop version.
Thank you

RE: Opera Mini 23 for AndroidOpera Mini
The top has the address bar and the three dots menu. But nothing else.
https://goo.gl/photos/jKhocZwJY9E7JF3X6Do you use full screen? In previous versions I tried full screen and the navigation bar won't show after it hidden sometimes. Try to scroll up & down fast in portrait and landscape to see if it show. If it won't, then the last resort is to clear app data then sync to somewhat soften the blow. You definitely lose your feeds though.
From that I never set full screen, also the recent version never hide it and it perfect that way.

RE: Opera Mini 22 for AndroidOpera Mini
Latest beta update today makes me unable to open feeds. It basically redirects to internal error page about invalid slot but webview didn't recognize it so it just give "unknown url scheme" error page.
I got something in mind regarding the advancement as of now.
I think high saving is still lacking in terms of the features integration and bugfixes. Maybe it's because too much complicity to work on two engines in one app. Maybe it will be better if the new Opera Mini only use high saving and the extreme only for the old Mini.
That way you can focus on improving this one new engine while putting aside the other one which is kinda limited anyway. But that's what we love, simple mini browsing. It could also help with the lower Android OS version which could only use the old one anyway to get the new look. Just keep support the app.And as a regular user we can choose between the two apps for our needs for browsing, a quick one or basic one.

RE: Opera Mini 22 for AndroidOpera Mini
Hi, I want to report a frustrating thing with opening some site.
When I open some shady sites like torrent site on my overprotective cellular network it redirect me to their "restricted" page. I accept that, but when I switch to other cellular network and wifi with no restriction I still got redirected to the previous page from my mobile network. I think it stuck on redirect cache. It only happen in high saving mode.
What I ask from this is please add 'clear cache' or introduce more advanced clear history options with clear cache and individual site cookies removal.

RE: Opera Mini 21 for AndroidOpera Mini
Now it's back to normal.
It was broken for the past week or so. It got no JavaScript and I can't post comments.

RE: Opera Mini 21 for AndroidOpera Mini
And now Facebook is broken! What did you do??.
i have a question.
why large downloads (wait for wifi) has no effect when extreme mode data savings is off?
obviously, downloads will start immediately even when wifi is not available. (mobile network is connected)Strange, on my device it did the opposite. I never set it to wait for wifi but it did anyway frequently.
I like the pop up bar for long press on web link. How about another pop up bar for back button in favorite lists.
I don't really understand what you mean, can't you just use the device's capacitive back button?
For the pop-up I wish it displayed lower than the center the screen for better reach.

RE: Opera Mini 21 for AndroidOpera Mini
In high saving there are times when sites with advanced mobile view like Facebook and youtube are not rendered correctly. I hate it when it happens because it sticks for quite some time and restarting didn't help.
Here's one of the occurrence, it wasn't supposed to display like that https://pictr.com/images/2016/12/28/499196e84f2d4a2d46d582d09fc89d33.png

RE: Opera 20 for AndroidOpera Mini
It's been quite some time since the last I visit this forum, and it seems that you no longer open new thread everytime there's new beta builds out. So I guess we're gonna stick with version 20 for a longer while now.
A little review from me:
The download manager menu is nice, the ability to copy link is very useful, make it easier to move the process to other more stable downloader.
For the performance I've tried downloading a 500MB file from Openload, but in about two hours it stopped in the middle and can't resume whatsoever. From my experience Openload download link alive for 24 hours, so yeah, I don't recommend handling big files in Opera Mini. At least until it get an improvement. One recommendation from me is the "double tap to zoom in" which instead of fitting the column width it should fit to 100% text size. It's pretty frustrating experience on desktop only sites.
Please accept my fix.

RE: Opera Mini 19 beta 4 for AndroidOpera Mini
Another issue in High Saving :
-Recently when trying to access m.facebook.com it give "too many redirect" error page.
Contender Issues :
-Still cannot add search engine and select link text.Suggestions :
-add User Agent option.
-add 'select text' and 'share' options on link long press.
-add 'copy', 'paste' and 'add search engine' options on textbox long press.
-add custom rotation options : 'portrait' and 'auto landscape'.
-my previous post. -
RE: Opera Mini 19 beta 4 for AndroidOpera Mini
After a while eventually the team decided to switch back to the previous omnibar. Sadly I actually getting used to be greeted with the page URL and type over and over again with slight variations to search (meaning I already lose hope for search text retainment). At the current state I don't even care whether it separated or not. Unless it be like v7 search bar I won't give a damn.
Another better design from v7 is the O menu which incorporate button style in grid view. I hope the new Mini also use it and put 'find in page' and 'share' back to it.
And also I hope that the theme also change the colour of navigation bar, O menu and settings background.

RE: Opera Mini 19 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
Yeah, that's why I edit my post.
And for the second point the WebView is a dependency. It didn't comes with each of mini's updates. It's in the device.
You can't compare the two for it.Check it again with high savings on wifi for example, in this forum or any other, including Opera's blog which uses Disqus, you always have to login again if you close the browser and load it again. O4A with data compression on works fine as expected.
I've checked just now. force stop it, facebook not logged out.
But writing this, once I post comment I've logged out? Maybe it just this forum?
Does 'data savings on wi-fi' have any effects?

RE: Opera Mini 19 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
Opera has built its mobile base around Mini so Opera for Android comes at a second or... last place. Mini is updated with every WebView update immediately, while O for A sits at a chromium version of 50 while chrome beta is on 53. That shows a lot doesn't it?
I thought it was Blink or something.
About turning off images I'm not sure this works as it's currently "fake" in O for A, when you use extreme mode in Mini the browser switches to the presto engine which cuts from the client side a lot of stuff, it's not a matter of heavier compression, you can check in html5test.com for example how much is being disabled. We need a similar approach, from the client side.
Extreme compression made possible because there's server (which actually have the Presto engine) in between which loads all completely first then compress and send it to client. I don't see how this gonna be applied to client device utilizing WebView. Maybe this could explain OfA's behaviour.
Unless like I mentioned block the image files before it loads. After that just need to figure out the image frame.
Cookies are not the same for the same reason they use different engines and probably different servers. But what needs to be fixed is that Mini does not keep you logged in if you close and restart the browser in any mode a thing that works fine in O for A.
As a matter of fact it did save my login sessions, but I don't know, it randomly log me out once in a while.
For shared cookies, there's must be a way, I believe. -
RE: Opera Mini 19 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
So the page specific function moved into the three dots?
I don't know man, I always feel tapping the three dots to be a daunting task.
And here I hope that O menu to be like quick settings panel. Even better if customizable. -
RE: Opera Mini 19 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
@cubot : thanks for the heads up, but I think the team should put a little more empathy on ad-block.
for google suggestions : I feel ya, man! Just as soon as I click the history/bookmark results it turns to suggestions, urrgh! Maybe if they move the suggestions below....@cinamullah :
For YouTube in Extreme Saving Opera Mini can't play it because in general the mode doesn't support flash, or gif, or active JavaScript. but YouTube providing a link to play their videos to applications which could handle the protocol, namely the official YouTube or other third party apps such as the aforementioned tubemate. that's how it is.@lantohsay :
I found no difficulties whatsoever over speed dial. Have you tried to scroll?@xirit32 :
- for Opera for Android I don't see why it won't adopt the features from the mini if the team see fit. they are from one company, right?
- for turn off images in High Saving, it maybe possible with ad-block-esque approach. Who knows?

RE: Opera Mini 19 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
@miyukiwork :
a) so I assume it won't occur in the next update then?
b) but in a page with gifs I can see the image runs. It's like giving impression that only the interactions are disabled for that page. Like 'I can see but can't touch' thing.
c) I guess you right. but in uc browser it is not misplaced. Though the rest of the page rendered horribly. So yeah I guess it just the site.more High Saving rendering issue:
a) in (High Saving-only) m.olx.co.id ads entry there's a row of five green icons as a means of contacting but when clicking it, nothing happens. On previous versions it working correctly. If I recall correctly it even works in Extreme. It seems to be JavaScript issue.
b) sometimes Facebook, YouTube rendered incorrectly, like trying to load mobile version in Extreme Mode with single column. And a crucial thing I found is it didn't share the cookies between the two Savings mode. So, why is that?
Another feature favoured is customizable auto High Saving list. I know it already predetermined but we need to decide on our own.
Thank you. -
RE: Opera Mini 19 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
I'd like to give you some feedback:
-cannot select link text directly.
-search terms retainment is not as dependable as the old Mini.
-High Saving perform poorly.
a) If it gives error page, then for that period all the pages would do the same. I guess it is a server issue?
b) often times, with heavy/poorly coded sites the page will freeze, but only the page. Menu, tabs etc. works normally.
c) some sites with interactive layout have some issues. usually the image placement in screenshot, etc. a little off. (See one of Jakartanotebook.com product entry)
And on early ad-block availability, while in High Saving for one time my number shoot up from about 30 to more than 4 thousand in a page. The page seems to have rendering issue, but it can't be having 4 thousand ads on that single page, right?
What I'm asking is can we reset the counter?
Also make better "undetectability" for ad-block sensitive sites. -
RE: Opera Mini 18 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
Just realize that the new search field retain search terms like the old v7. Very great, complimenting the Classic layout better.
what's bothering me is the reload button placement which is well hidden under the 'three dots'. It could be better if it hidden under the O menu OR not hidden at all.
I'm still waiting for the whole UI to go bottom side and the navigation bar always visible.
I actually had problem displaying the nav-bar. Because the page needed to be scrolled up for some speed in order for it to show, it become quite challenging in pages with inadequate height. Sometimes it just simply won't show once it's hidden.

RE: Opera Mini 18 beta for AndroidOpera Mini
about the last update (June 7), can we edit or disable those suggestions?
and I see there you boldly suggest engadget, but have you successfully open the site with extreme saving? it literally went white after finished loading.
