@curledupwithdakka Opera for Android doesn't do anything to text input except send it along. Some earlier versions would underline suspected typos in red, current versions don't even do that. So no, I'd blame GBoard or whatever other autocorrect type features you are using.

Same problem with links which lead to a mp3 file. Long press the link has only possibility to download the file. No option to open with external app.
