RE: I can't buy my groceries.Opera for Windows
No Turbo, no VPN. I've just tried the Opera 40 and that worked for me. So the fault is in Opera 38........

RE: I can't buy my groceries.Opera for Windows
So I don't have an ad-blocker enabled, the site works everywhere but Opera 38. I wonder where the fault is?

RE: I can't buy my groceries.Opera for Windows
I have 2 versions of Opera plus 3 other browsers. Why should I try to disable the ad-blocker for Opera 38?

I can't buy my groceries.Opera for Windows
Here in England I buy groceries online from Waitrose. There's a Login/Register button top right. Using Windows 10 and Opera 38.0.2220.41 clicking on the Login button has zero effect. No further conversation. No problem logging on using Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Flashpeak Slimbrowser. No problems with Opera 12! Just your current version. Please determine where the error is and fix it!

RE: How to "unsort" my bookmarks?Opera for Windows
What settings for the sidebar? There are none.... Especially there isn't the ability for me to arrange my bookmarks in any way. I'm guessing that Opera 33 installed itself and something got lost in the latest release. It was all right 2 days ago. I haven't changed any settings ANYWHERE and now the bookmark folders are in alphabetical order and the bookmarks within each folder are also in alphabetical order. Fortunately there are other browsers that able to display a bookmark sidebar and don't decide to rearrange my bookmarks on a whim. Until someone can provide a solution I'm switching to Firefox.

RE: How to "unsort" my bookmarks?Opera for Windows
Thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't solve my problem. I use the bookmark sidebar and that until today displayed my bookmarks in the order I wanted. Now they are in alphabetical order which is inconvenient. When I follow your suggestion, the bookmarks are in the "required" order but still in alphabetical order in the sidebar. HELP!!!!!

RE: Goodbye Opera 12Opera for Windows
It's a great shame that Opera 12 is dying. But comments such as "get over it" and "move on" don't cut the mustard. The current Opera, the current Chrome, the current "any other browser" do not have the functions that Opera 12 had.Do the Opera staff require payment for a resurrection? If so, count me in for a few dollars more........

How to "unsort" my bookmarks?Opera for Windows
I don't know when it happened (today) but my bookmarks were unsorted i.e. I could drag them to where I wanted. Now they appear in alphabetical order. How can I stop this from happening?

Problem with Ebay.Opera for Windows
I'm using Win7 and have a number of browsers available. Safari, Chrome, IE11, Firefox and a really neat browser called Flashpeak. Plus Opera12 and Opera18.
When I view an item on Ebay, clicking on the item's image - top left - will normally open an enlarged window containing the image(s). This happens corectly in all browsers except Opera 18 when accessing Ebay.co.uk. It works fine with the US Ebay but not with the English link. Can this be fixed? -

Wow! the number of cry babies in this particular forum beggars belief. Just count the number of topics that refer to the lack of a proper bookmarks toolbar. It's CONCERN not crying. And it's nice to know that Opera probably doesn't care just like you.
Oh, and by the way, I have another concern. When I view an item - any item - in Ebay, if there is an image I can click on it in every browser that I have installed and that includes Opera 12 - and the image will open in a larger, separate tab. But not in Opera 18.
Should I report this error somewhere else or should I merely be a cry baby here? I guess I should comment on this to the Mozilla team and let them have some enjoyment since you - and probably Opera - don't care.................
Oh! Wait a minute! It says report problems here... -

What folders doesn't it show?
Fairly immaterial, but I've got a folder of shopping bookmarks and a folder containing travel bookmarks neither of which is displayed in the "Import bookmarks as Speed Dial items.".
What I had to do was open each individual bookmark in Opera 12, copy the URL and then add it as a speed dial item in Opera 18. I could then combine all the entries for one folder and name it "travel" for example. But that was a long, long tedious process and I hope I never have to re-install Opera 18 since I can't see any way of exporting my bookmarks.
Indeed, the "More tools"/"Bookmark importer" seems to read a "Documents and Settings" file (I'm using Win7) rather than asking me for a file (.adr or .html) that I've exported from Opera 12. If this is the case then I can NEVER remove Opera 12 from my PC 'cos all my info will disappear with it!
At least IE, Firefox and Chrome give my the ability to import my saved bookmark file..... -

They only support Drag and Drop of bookmarks and folders on the Bookmarks Bar, not D&D of bookmarks within folders, which is far more important for organising your bookmarks. You can use right-click cut/paste or open the Bookmarks Panel, and Organiser, and do it there, but the Bookmarks Bar (and menu) don't easily lend themselves to organising bookmarks.
The QAB also supports "Sort alphabetically," which avoids a lot of work too.Originally posted by CogitoSum:
The QAB is a decent alternative but there's a problem. The QAB entry for my bookmarks shows my imported bookmarks. The bookmark importer (from the top left) doesn't show all the folders so I can't split my bookmarks up into individual QAB entries. If you could explain how to overcome this?

The biggest problem is with some users whining about features missing from Opera 17, without even attempting to understand the reasons behind the changes, and being argumentative when helpful answers are given.
I've read all the responses here with interest. This is my first response so please where I am argumentative. Stating my regret that some (two) functions have disappeared is not whining - it's a statement of regret. Any reasons behind the changes are immaterial. The bookmark bar has gone as has the ability to display Exif data.

You said that you miss the Bookmarks Bar, but perhaps what you really meant was the Bookmarks Menu, or the Bookmarks Panel, or the Bookmarks Manager? The answer to what you actually said has been given many times — the Quick Access Bar is the best replacement available. In fact, it is better than the Bookmarks Bar in some respects, in that it supports D&D.

It is something an extension could do.
Indeed extensions could do. But then again why should I import an extension to allow me to import a Chrome extension when I can far more easily use Chrome?
