Similar problem syncing Opera desktop with Opera Android like in the linked thread.
The odd thing is that it actually syncs some stuff like bookmarks and passwords, but not Speed Dials or Pinboards or Flow. Speed Dials arnen't even listed in the Bookmarks page.
Going to https://www.sync.opera.com/ only shows 1 device.

Trying to sync from the mobile app with Add Device only works partially (as already said) and seems a bit off. For example at the end of the procedure sync seems to be active in Opera desktop, but in the end it always fails.

Flow is different because I can sync it with the QR code method from the desktop app. And then the mobile app prompts me to "follow the instructions on the other device"...

... and the "other device" (on Windows) just hang up suspended in this screen...

... and of course there's no way I can use or isert the confirm code anywhere.

After some time (I don't really know at which point or after which action) after "thinking" for a while an error screen comes out in the Android app and I get kicked out of Sync status on Windows

Same here. Messenger on the sidebar is totally blank. Opening it in a browser tab works just fine so I don't think it's an adblock concern.
It started a couple of days ago. Did anyone solve this?

But the problem will persist as I can't sync passwords on the old PC. Do you think it's possible to solve it in some way?

@leocg I understand that I shouldn't change the password. But how one knows before?
Now I've made already 3-4 attempts at syncing. When I don't try to sync passwords everything's fine (green Sync icon). Whenever I try to add the passwords option in Sync it starts to go on an error loop.

First Opera asks me to re-submit my password, then it goes on an infinite loading state both on https://auth.opera.com/account/v2/desktop/login/loading and when clicking on the Sync icon as you can see here.

Can I at least save the list of passwords on a text file?
I have alot of them, I'm going mad having to retrieve them one by one on the old laptop.

Hi. I recently formatted my desktop. I wanted to access opera from the new Windows 10 system but I didn't save the password. So I just changed it on the laptop. When I logined in the newly formatted system Opera prompted me with a message that "password encryption was made with an old password" so it needed the old password. Since I was luck to find the old password I inserted that. No luck.
So now I'm stuck. I have all the passwords on the laptop, but Opera won't let me sync. The option to input the old password disappeared after the first attempt.
Any idea on how to solve this? I know both the old and new password as I said. Latest Opera version both on Windows 10. Thanks!

I just wanted to signal this site that use a Opera poll for scam/phishing, since I can't find another way to report sites on Opera at the moment (used to be through clicking on the site flag, and then Options I think)

It's probably the first time in my life that I fall into this kind of things. They're getting better and better... Fortunately the further step was more recognizable.
Interestingly enough this second site has "secure connection" and liable certificate according to Opera.

You can change the file type association with any program but when you try with "protocols" (that are in the low end of the same big list under Control Panel) the system will only let you pick on his default list or "apps" (looking in the store), not regular desktop programs.
I tryied uninstall/reinstall without luck. Then I remembered that this thing has already happened in the past, and some gentle soul here on the forums has given me this .reg file to add:

Hi, recently Opera has shown some nasty quirk on loading pages.
90% of the new pages I open I have to reload 2 times before the page render correctly. Most of the time the first click fail, the second load some bits of the site interface (for example Wikipedia would load just in text format), the third time the site will render correctly. All this reloading take a while..
Anyone else with the same problem?

I'm still looking at a solution since Gmail doesn't support subgroups (only groups). Or I could use Gmail anyway, and try using labels instead of subgroups.
But opening the .csv file in a spreadsheet I don't see any "folders" column; the first one is "Name", the second is "E-mail" ecc. All the entries of the .adr file like:

seem to be ignored. So how could this data be read anyway?

Pretty much what the title say.
What I'm doing now:

. I export my Conctacts in the .adr file
. I convert to a .csv file following this procedure http://znos.hu/ohparser/

but the problem is that the file I obtain does not contain any information about the original Opera Mail Contacts folder structure. I have a collection that I built in years of eperience and cleaning and I don't want to waste it.
If it was just for the top folders I could just export the folders one at the time but I have also alot of subfolders there...
Anyone has a clue of what I'm asking for?

It's strange but yesterday I had to reinstall Opera Next (latest version) because a really hard crash corrupted the software (after I forced a reboot). Today it's happening with Opera Mail (standalone). It's crashed and don't want to close either.
But this time I'm afraid to loose all my mail backup of years. I can't believe I'm risking to loose all that.
How can I get out of here without making too much damage? I mean, Opera Mail is still open and I can't terminate it in Control Panel or otherwise.
What's happening? It never happened something similar in years of using Opera softwares..
I'm on Win8 x64, latest version of all softwares.

Yep, the feed thing is a bit annoying, but you can add them manually so to me isn't a big deal.
About Opera Mail, I feel really annoyed about it. I'm using Opera Next and I'm happy with it for now. For mail and I followed what I meant to be the "standard" path of a transition, just to discover that it's going all down the river.
I have mails in Opera Mail from 2006, and I love to have them all there, so when I want to scan for old communication I can do it with my 3 mail accounts, plus the older accounts that I imported. Now I'd just like to know how I can export all this and this time I think I'll go with the most obvious tool for this, Microsoft Outlook Express (or it's descendent). Or do you guys know some valid alternative? An offline mail client (better if with some basic CRM tools).

But for what business concerns, with all those CRM online and offline software out there, I think the Opear guys are wrong thinking that Opera Mail hasn't potential. Just with a few addons it could be the perfect supercompact easy to use offline CRM/mail client. Add a premium service for professional cloud sync (leaving basic free) and you're go. (Opera Link? I remember that silly thing. That silly thing that made me stay here for years).

I want to know what Opera company will do with that piece of software. It's free and is a good software but I think we should at least be informed of the possibilities of the future. I noted there isn't even a dedicated forum section for it now. I take it as another confirm that the software is being discontinued. Am I wrong?

The warning translated sounds like "Legal software possibly usable by ill-intentioned users to damage the computer or personal data".

What is it? Should I keep it or thrash it?
