I'm just going to put my two cents here... My thought is that the issue with GX as it's not clearing the temporary file (the twin file) once it is transferred to your Downloads folder.

Too bad the dark reader chrome extension doesn't effect the messenger sidebar.

Also - the alt text is also sometimes slow to update it's text for anything it hovers over.

RE: Hints after hovering over pretty much anythingOpera GX
Having the same issue - really annoying.
In some cases the following happens and I have to resolve by:- Alt text appears from unfocused / background window despite currently working and focused on foreground window - solved by moving the mouse away (temporary) or restarting (more permanent), though I only had this happen once so far.
- Alt text persists despite switching tabs, minimising and even switching desktops - Can be solved by finding the window / tab it came from and the alt text can then unfocus. (In my case this happened with an Tabli's popout window.

RE: [Solved]New button in sidebar, doesn't seem to do anything?Opera GX
@sgunhouse D'oh, I didn't read it as carefully. Turns out they are the new limiter indicators depending on what you have enabled from GX Control.
Top to bottom: Network, RAM, CPU
@themaciekk said in Opera GX - Update Released!:
[NEW] Enabled limiters are displayed at the bottom of sidebar.

RE: [Solved]New button in sidebar, doesn't seem to do anything?Opera GX
Hm, this is interesting. I did a fresh install on a new user account to see if it is a new update and it wasn't there.
I don't believe that it is an extension icon as all the extensions are at the bottom of the sidebar (scrolled all the way down) and this one persists outside of the scrollable area above the sidebar options menu.
It can also change color accordingly with the browser's color accents, so I don't believe it could be an extension as I have not seen an extension that have the ability to match the icon to the browser's color accent.

[Solved]New button in sidebar, doesn't seem to do anything?Opera GX
Located above the sidebar options, it looks like a tab or window stack button, however when interacting with it (click, double click, right click, hover) it doesn't seem to do anything other than just change color on hover.

Did this happen in the last update? I can't seem to find it being mentioned in it. What is it? How does it work?

RE: [Suggestion]Allow custom images for Speed Dial shortcutsOpera GX
I made this a long time ago but hopefully this should still work. You will need to inspect element and replace the entire HTML with this:
<html><head> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"> <style> img { width: 100%; height: auto; position: absolute; margin: auto; left: 0; right: 0; top: 0; bottom: 0; } </style></head><body> <img src="INSERT IMG URL"> </body></html> <!-- After making the thumbnail, switch the current thumbnail to the generic thumbnail (the one with the website name in it) and save it. This will clear the current thumbnail, allowing the new custom one to appear. After saving the generic thumbnail, open the thumbnail editor again and go through the options to find your newly made custom thumbnail! --!>
Honestly it's a bit overkill, but I find it's the most effective and simplest way to get those custom images in. You will need to host the images online (like imgur) due to security reasons browsers won't load local images on websites on the internet.

Sidebar scrolling is slow or lagging.Opera GX
As the title says, whenever I hover over the side bar to view other extension sidebar or back up to access Flow, the scroll is either unresponsive or lagging.

That's interesting. I'm able to use subtitles in the pop out on Youtube and ABC iView which uses JWPlayer.

RE: [Suggestion]Allow custom images for Speed Dial shortcutsOpera GX
you can also scroll and move around the preview image if the size isn't right for you.
And if you truly want a custom image, you will have to inject it into the website so that the thumbnail generator can pick it up.

RE: TranslatorOpera add-ons
Nice and simple, uses a custom interface that loads much faster than the other sidebar translators - which uses a web panel to load the google translate website.

A few comments on Opera GX.Opera GX
I'm not good at explaining very well, so I'm going to use bullet points to make it brief.
- sidebar extensions are now merged with the Opera sidebar!
- GX Control tab annoying - new tab instance is opened with each new window, even forcing itself into focus when dragging a tab out to create a new window.
- CPU/RAM control is greatly appreciated. Been having issues with CPU control lately and regret not buying a quad core.
- This is essentially a reskinned version of the main browser. But, what did I expect, the guy did say that this is aimed at gamers. Not for everyday use.

RE: Some little FeedbackOpera GX
Secondly being able to close the Game Tab, or at least limit it to 1 instance of it. Every time when I move a tab somewhere else it opens another one of it, also putting itself on the front.
I see what you mean. I just tried this now. Yes, that is really weird behaviour. I expect to be able to continue using the tab that was dragged out of the window once it has it's own window, instead of being presented with a new instance of the GX Corner.

RE: Side bar for only Speed Dial option | Opera 60Suggestions and feature requests
Agreed! I miss the ability to access settings, extensions, downloads, etc from the sidebar in speed dial!
-
RE: Is it possible to hide the sidebar when websites are opened?Opera for Windows
I also face this. Missing the ability to pin and unpin the sidebar and only access it from speed dial. I will also miss the ability to access other pages like Settings and Extensions from speed dial.
I will now have to actually learn the keyboard shortcuts for the Downloads, Bookmarks, Settings, Extensions, etc instead of accessing them from the O menu.

RE: Custom New Tab Page extension not workingOpera for Windows
You can install chrome extensions on Opera with the help of the Install Chrome Extensions extension by Opera.
But in this case, it sounds like the same situation that Tampermonkey from chrome extension is facing. In this case, there is a guide to re-enable it but it isn't recommended for every extension that is blocked by Opera.
So I guess you will have to look for an alternative, or if you trust the extension that much, find the guide and apply it.

RE: [Solved]Chromecast supportOpera for Windows
I found this page: https://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2017/10/opera-developer-update-chromecast-support/
It says that you can cast a tab by right clicking anywhere in the web page and clicking on "Cast..." from the right click menu or you can do the same from the Opera Menu.
