Here's a summary of changes in the latest updates.

LVL 6 (core: 114.0.5282.243) – 2024-11-28

This build includes fixes and improvements that were requested in the previous version. Most notable new options to tweak window decoration when window is maximized. More ways to customize sidebar, UI improvements and usability fixes.

There are also more Feedback buttons that you are encouraged to use to let us know how do you like each part of GX.

Here's a more detailed look what's included in this version.

New

• Setting to hide window frame decoration when window is maximized (Windows) or in Full Screen (macOS). Avaialble in Easy Setup > Apperance and in Settings > Appearance.
• Setting to colorize social and AI sevices icons in sidebar. Available in Easy Setup > Appearance and Settings > Appearance.

Improved

• Improved look and feel of the private window (welcome message).
• GX Classic preset has better cover, position and properly sets UI icons upon activation.

Fixed

• It was impossible to click top of UI in maximized mode to activate tab.
• Side profile icon is changed to default (red one) after 'side profile' browser start.
• Back arrow was not working inside Instagram panel.
• More feedback buttons and icons are back and their popup is properly positioned on screen.
• Some secondary buttons were hard to read for certain UI colors.
• Glitch animation wasn't applied immediatelly upon navigation in settings (for fonts coming from mods).
• Missing weather icon on Weather widget inside classic UI.
• [Windows] App icon is not applied for "current user" installations.

Also

• Added reported missing translations.
• Visual tweaks and improvements.

Opera Touch is opened for beta testing! If you wish to test out the latest version, try out upcoming changes, help improve the application and give earlier feedback just join the beta testing program.

How to join the beta program:

1. Open Google Play and find Opera Touch.
2. Scroll down to the bottom and tap I'M IN button.

New version of Opera Touch will be downloaded. You will see that you're beta tester. Your feedback will not be visible to other users.

You can leave the beta testing program anytime you want.

They are irritating. We'll look into this.

On some pages including netflix.com video pop out button appears for a couple of seconds each time when video starts playing. Then you can activate it.

There are two brand new features in this update: Network Limiter and Release Calendar. Let's start with Network Limiter. You will find it in the GX Control panel along with CPU and Memory Limiter. It allows you to set the maximum download and upload speed that Opera GX can achieve. Values are expressed in MB/s and KB/s which is pretty reasonable measurement when we're talking about download and upload. However when you perform network speed tests (for instance: speedtest.net) results are expressed in Mbps and Kbps, which are bits not bytes. There are 8 bits in each byte so 1 MB/s = 8 Mbps (more info).

GX Corner gets an update. There's a new section called Release Calendar, which features upcoming game releases from various platforms. We think it's handy widget that will save you quite a bit of time.

@ismaelwoltmann Are you logged into Twitch in sidebar? If so this means there's a notification coming from Twitch that someone started streaming. You can disable notifications if the top left corner of Twitch - press 3 dots menu and then select mute option.

We'd like to reach feature parity between iOS and Android as soon as possible. Features like "Find text in page" will appear in the upcoming versions.

Opera GX for macOS joins early access – 2019-12-12

Today we have finished close beta testing of macOS version. Thank you all for your help and time to give us feedback. It's all highly appreciated! There are two brand new features in this update: Network Limiter and Release Calendar. Let's start with Network Limiter. You will find it in the GX Control panel along with CPU and Memory Limiter. It allows you to set the maximum download and upload speed that Opera GX can achieve. Values are expressed in MB/s and KB/s which is pretty reasonable measurement when we're talking about download and upload. However when you perform network speed tests (for instance: speedtest.net) results are expressed in Mbps and Kbps, which are bits not bytes. There are 8 bits in each byte so 1 MB/s = 8 Mbps (more info).

GX Corner gets an update. There's a new section called Release Calendar, which features upcoming game releases from various platforms. We think it's handy widget that will save you quite a bit of time.
