You need a Service Worker for the banner to appear. Validate your site with the lighthouse extension to see what is missing: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lighthouse/blipmdconlkpinefehnmjammfjpmpbjk

RE: Update with UI toggle, language/country picker and moreOpera for Android
It's really annoying to see that those opera's "ads" are permanently showing...
You can remove them by long-pressing them and dragging them to the trash. They won't appear again.

RE: Update with UI toggle, language/country picker and moreOpera for Android
Thanks for the update. I have a question, why can't I see the logo of these sites in my SD although they are being shown fine in the suggestions?
I'll look into this.

Opera beta 37.2.2192.108734
Looking good and running stable.
I can't find that 'news country selector', but would rather switch off the entire newsfeed completely. You can find a country switcher and an option to turn off the news feed completely in the Settings > News section.
Download destination management is excellent.
Needs language selector, and maybe cookie management. Panopticlick reports vulnerability to supercookie tracking even with cookies switched off.Hmm, let me look into that.
Looking ahead to the next beta release

Update with UI toggle, language/country picker and moreOpera for Android
In the latest 37.2 release, we’ve added the following features:
- an app layout switcher: in Settings > Browser, you now find an “App layout” option, allowing you to choose between phone and tablet layout, on any kind of device. Note that, for now, the browser will restart when you switch, but we’re working on fixing that as well.
- a news country selector: available in Settings > News, the country switcher allows you to pick your country and language of choice for the news that is shown on the home page.
- a download location picker: when you download a file, you can now choose where on your phone you want to save it to.
This is available to all beta channel users, and to a selection of stable channel users.

New version of Opera for Android with UI overhaulOpera for Android
Hi all,
If you’ve been following our beta channel, you’ve probably seen that we’ve given Opera for Android a serious lick of paint: the browser has a new look that’s fresh, modern, and inspired by Android’s material design.
We’re happy to start rolling out this new UI and feature set to the stable Opera for Android channel as well. This will happen gradually, so it may take a quite a while before you see it on your phone or tablet. If you really can't wait, check out the beta channel in the meantime.
Here’s a quick list of what’s new:
- The start page has a new design, with Speed Dial on the left, and a news feed with channels you can configure on the right.
- A “Reader mode” for news articles, which can be toggled per article or set permanently in the Settings.
- A personal corner in the browser (tap on the “person” icon in the bottom right) where you can find your offline pages, bookmarks, history and downloads. You can also sign in here to sync your Speed Dial, bookmarks, tabs and typed history across your devices.
- A three-dots menu in the top right with Data Savings, Find in Page, Share, and a brand-new “Add to” submenu.
- Reorganized Settings: we’ve arranged things in a more logical order, and there’s a dedicated “News” section to fine-tune how your start page should look, whether you want notifications, etc.
- A “Full screen” option that hides the bottom toolbar when scrolling the page.
- A “Copy and search” widget that allows you to perform a quick search whenever you copy something in other apps.
- You can set another search engine as your default.
- Improved support for progressive web apps, including a number of bug fixes.
What we’re currently working on:
- A layout switcher for those who want to use the tablet UI on a phone.
- An option to change news feed language.
- A way to let you select a folder of choice for downloads.
- An engine upgrade to the latest Chromium.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!

Opera 37 releasedOpera for Android
We’re happy to release an update for Opera for Android, and what a packed release it is!
- There’s an option to block ads in the Data savings settings, so you can save even more data.
- We’ve added support for web push notifications, an emerging standard that is part of the stack of technologies powering progressive web apps. You can try it out on Facebook or New Scientist.
- To give you control over what device APIs websites can access and what they can’t, we’ve added a dedicated “Site settings” section.
- Multi-window mode is now supported. On Samsung tablets, you can start using this feature right away. Otherwise, it will come in handy when you upgrade to Android N.
- We’ve improved the display of website icons on Speed Dial.
- And last but not least, we’ve upgraded Chromium to 50.
Enjoy the upgrade, and let us know what you think!

RE: Advertisement icons in opera mobileOpera for Android
Opera adding dating/porn links to my Speed Dail. This is really disgusting. Paid version should be launched.
Can you provide more details. We certainly have NOT configured anything like that on Opera for Android.

RE: Advertisement icons in opera mobileOpera for Android
Thanks for the question!
From time to time, we add new links on Speed Dial, and these changes are pushed to all users: typically, you'll find a mix of general interest sites as well as paying partners, and this differs from region to region. Of course, we make sure every site works well on Opera for Android before featuring them.
If you don't see any value in particular featured links, simply drag them to the trash can — that's all!

RE: Opera Mobile Labs build with extensions for Android It doesn't work in lolipopOpera for Android
As leocg says, this is a 3 year old experimental build, so we will not issue any update for it.

Chromecast doesn't work with Opera at this point. We're evaluating this, but no promises

RE: music songs playerOpera add-ons
Which extension are you talking about? We'll need some more details here.
You can find your browser version in opera:about — it should automatically update, so even if you downloaded it a few months ago, you should have the latest version installed by now.

No, there is no such API and it is not planned. Sorry.

This is reported as window.devicePixelRatio: go to http://andreasbovens.github.io/understanding-viewport/meta-widthdevicewidth.html and try zooming in and out. You'll see that value changes.
