RE: Sync removed all of my passwords?Opera for Windows
I was able to get a few from Chrome, but it doesn't have updated passwords for a lot of sites. And not for the ones I can't access without Opera. I extra had Opera and Opera GX to have them stored twice, plus sync so they'd be backed up online. Hopefully they can be recovered.

Sync removed all of my passwords?Opera for Windows
I just added a phone and logged in. I wanted to sync everything to my phone but for some reason my PC has a completely empty passwords list. How can I restore this?
The only thing that changed is adding the phone, but the passwords didn't clear until just recently.
My phone shows 1 password saved, my PC has 0. I had a lot and I use different passwords for every site.
I did launch Opera GX recently, and that was updated... But all of those passwords are gone too.
This is a pretty big problem. I can't access one of my old e-mail addresses and some sites do not let you change e-mails. How can they just be gone?

@leocg The mouse cursor for scrolling remains on screen, the page no longer scrolls or responds until I click the address bar.

Middle mouse scroll getting stuckOpera for Windows
So I have been having this issue for years. It is incredibly annoying as I sometimes use the middle mouse feature to smoothly scroll through sites. One example of where it gets stuck is on Youtube. It happens on other sites as well.
I don't have intrusive software / bloatware installed, and it doesn't happen on other browsers using different engines. This is a bug that has existed through multiple Windows installations, clean installs, different mice, etc..

1/3 of the calculator popup is hidden. Can't even use horizontal scroller to view it.

RE: The Option, To Re-Show A Previously Hidden Extension Icon In The Extension Toolbar, No Longer ExistsOpera for Windows
Uninstalling and reinstalling an addon does Not work. I tried it with one I haven't used in a while. I unpinned it. Uninstalled, then reinstalled it. The icon does appear for a moment, and then it gets removed from the bar with no way to re-add it.
I'm honestly wanting to drop Opera because of this. It is a serious issue. I will see about sandboxing it today; hopefully I can get to it today but I have a lot of other things I have to get done today.

RE: The Option, To Re-Show A Previously Hidden Extension Icon In The Extension Toolbar, No Longer ExistsOpera for Windows
@lifeblood2112 Pretty much, except it is a customized version. Without access to the popup panel, I can't really do anything. I have bookmarked the popup panel in the past, but I need it to initialize on the current page instead of just loading on a blank page.
I run a lot of custom code, custom extensions, etc.. I built a framework for websites within TamperMonkey so I can quickly add, change, etc.. features on websites with very little code. All of my stuff is geared towards productivity / efficiency. I have many which monitor progression and without being able to access that information - it makes it very difficult to be as efficient as possible with the little time I do have available.
I will try the sandbox test as soon as I can to see if it changes a file, or registry entry, or something... Or I could try unpinning a non-vital plugin or even just install random plugins which I'll uninstall later or use plugins I have disabled for this. I do have some sysinternals programs by Microsoft which can monitor every action handled by a program such as registry read / write, file io, etc... and I could find something that way too... but if it only saves or writes when the program closes then that makes it much more difficult to find. It does make more sense in terms of file management so you aren't constantly reading and writing.... so it depends on how well Chromium and Opera are written.
First thing will probably be checking the plugin folder just to see if some type of .unpinned blank file was added which would be easy to manage. It'd be best to have all of the monitoring software set up before I try something new, though.

RE: The Option, To Re-Show A Previously Hidden Extension Icon In The Extension Toolbar, No Longer ExistsOpera for Windows
There must be another way... I'll try installing Opera into a sandbox... then monitor the files and changes made.. .then try to unpin something after no changes have occurred. This should then tell me exactly where it is marking something as unpinned.
Find that, and we can find out how to pin them again.
Worst case, we lose cached data.. best case, it is a simple flag.
When I get around to this, I'll let everyone know what I find unless someone does this first. But this is a viable solution and much faster than having to reconfigure everything.
This way, we only need to install it, install a few random extensions, then unpin and see which files are affected.

RE: The Option, To Re-Show A Previously Hidden Extension Icon In The Extension Toolbar, No Longer ExistsOpera for Windows
I have this exact issue. I right clicked an extension to go to options and accidentally hit unpin, which is poorly placed... I can't find where to re-show it. It isn't anywhere in the extension options, in the extension details, or even on the main extensions page.
This is a vital extension that I am required to have access to for the browser to work properly. If I visit a new site, I must be able to configure what is allowed and what I block and right now... it will block everything on new sites I visit making the browser un-usable.
There must be a solution to this.

RE: Opera always in foregroundOpera for Windows
Seems this bug is still here....
I downgraded monitors from 4k after upgrading due to the samsung u28e590d sounding like a bug zapper to 1080p... Just got a replacement monitor - Acer 4k with 3 year warranty which is nice - and now Opera stays on top... even after exiting and re-opening... Very annoying because I switch between many programs on my 6 monitors and some are overlayed on my primary...
Windows 10 Pro x64 - Opera Version information

RE: Icons only bookmarks bar ( with option to edit icons for FOLDERS AND SITES ) without deleting nameSuggestions and feature requests
Single space is too much too - it should be defined by pixels - some may prefer a single space of 16 to 32px others, like myself, would prefer 2px gap to allow more icons to be displayed along the length of the bar.
What about altering icons of folders - and the favicons of sites? You didn't mention anything about that.

Icons only bookmarks bar ( with option to edit icons for FOLDERS AND SITES ) without deleting nameSuggestions and feature requests
Feature request: Please add a feature so we can change bookmark bar icons ( folders AND websites ) so that all folders don't have to look identical meaning game websites can be a folder with a chess-piece overlay and project websites such as github / bitbucket / trello and so on can be a folder icon with a desktop pad or something...
Also part of this suggestion would be to make it so we don't have to delete the name text in order to have an ICONS ONLY bookmarks bar...
I use the bookmarks bar as icons only which makes it so much more usable, but being unable to organize anything in folders is bad... Example of what it could look like ( taken from EDGE because I suggested it the MS Feedback system: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mgt8ib3uwwd6m17/EdgeFolderIcons.png?dl=0 -- but it really is identical to Opera in the regards of how ugly the current bookmarks bar is )
Additionally: Please allow us to change the GAP between icons... Right now the gap is so massivly huge, you could fit an additional bookmark icon in between folders if you wanted to. Being able to adjust the distance would be a huge help...
I did this icons only bookmark bar on Firefox, but switched to Chrome because firefox became bloatware / memleakware, and then chrome became the same bloated memory-leaker and unusable... I couldn't even have 1 tab open with netflix because it'd stutter.. Opera I can have open with 100 tabs and netflix is fine along with a ton of other applications which is fantastic!! But on firefox the icons only bookmarks bar was beautiful except I had to delete the names of all of the bookmarks and folders weren't able to be edited, but the icons were close enough together I could have all of the important sites in a long line without these disgusting 32px gaps - they were 2px or so on firefox... It is about the perfect size for the gap..

RE: Request: Extension Bar - resizable and custom orderSuggestions and feature requests
There's a major bug too which causes opera to crash when you left-click addons in that French quotes menu >> for extra extensions in Opera...
Being able to resize the address bar is required!!!
Being able to reorder extensions is required!!!

RE: to make portable version as default browserOpera for Windows
This definitely needs to be added - especially because of the way Windows is going ( With sync across pcs, etc.. ).. Not to mention how annoying it is to have to reinstall all of your apps on any PC you use...
I have, for a long time now, been using cloud based services such as Dropbox - and now OneDrive or whatever which is tied into Windows 10 - to have my applications accessible to all of my computers...
Basically, I have it setup so OneDrive\Apps<App Folder>\ has my portable apps and I have bat files to "install" - ie one time setup if needed... At the least, adding shortcuts, at the most, editing the registry, etc...
One other example of this is my AcecoolAHK_Framework - AutoHotkey which I run on all of my PCs - it is a framework which automatically builds loader-files by reading the files in certain folders ( and certain folders have certain permissions - ie to execute an ahk script by including it in the framework meaning one icon in the tray, or to execute it external to the framework so it runs by itself.. the run folder also supports exes, bat files and so on for the addons_exe folder... addons_run runs externally, addons_inc includes them... a classes folder for objects, libraries and so on although I'm moving more towards my AcecoolDev_Framework which is something else...
All I do is run one bat file to add a few things to the registry, replace the default AutoHotkey.ahk script in documents, add a symbolic link to the libraries folder at Dropbox\AcecoolAHK_Framework\libraries\ and done...
Mobile applications are where things are going - well... where they'll continue to go... for many applications, and a browser should be no exception because each browser is tailored to each individual, and installing them takes forever...
Being able to have a browser in a cloud-shared-across-your-devices folder with a simple setup for that pc ( either run once to set up anything that needs to be set up... or run a setup file such as a bat file ) is how things should be... It is how I do things for as much as possible. I do this because of the limited amount of time I have to do anything at all - every bit of time savings means more time that I can spend doing something else...
Maybe we simply need a new category for apps.. Instead of hardcoded-to-a-single-pc, and Portable, something along the lines of Cloud-Shared, cloud-installed....
In programming, I have decades of experience with dozens of languages under my belt - I am an expert -, we don't hard-code anything... We use configuration for user and application setup / options... We use enumeration and constants with meaningful names for making our programs read elegantly with those placed in definition files or automatically generated, or for constants in a definitions config file or loaded via configuration....
Why should be "hard-code" our programs to a single PC? I appreciate that there is a syncing ability in most browsers, but it still requires the app to be installed... Not to mention with the drawbacks in Opera ( where you can't organize the extensions toolbar, being sorted by install time ) when it is synced, everything is installed as it comes instead of as it was set up...

RE: How to move icons places extensions?Opera for Windows
I've tried editing the toolbars segment and it had no effect. I am an expert on JSON so I know I made no mistakes - even so I still double-check my work.
I edited the install time which seems to be based on epoch expressed as microseconds, or it could be the json date in seconds or microseconds.. I didn't look too much into it. I basically edited the last 2 - 1 through 30 addons along with editing the toolbar segment.
The result was addons claimed they were corrupted - next I tried changing install date by changing the last 5 numbers in this format: xx000...
The result was the same - addons claimed they were corrupted.
I am uninstalling all addons - as I now have a list of addons in the order I want them to appear so I'll end up installing them that way if necessary but if I ever want to install a new addon it means I'd have to uninstall everything in order to put it in the order... Additionally, when Opera redownloads an addon, it deletes all of the user files meaning you lose all saved information on addons that don't have import / export ( such as Stylish or Opera ) and some addons take forever to import / export...
I've only been using Opera, this time around, for the last few days and I find it refreshing - it doesn't have the memory leaks or memory-hog-nature of Chrome or Firefox with adblockers enabled or not... But not being able to modify the order of the extensions bar is quite literally a deal-breaker because I am disabled and get only 2 hours every 3 days for work or pleasure after personal things have been taken care of.. Someone ran a stop sign in May 2011 breaking my neck, back and causing severe nerve damage leaving me tortured and in hell every day for the past 6+ years.
I can't use something which takes up this much time in order to make usage easier, and I can't use Chrome or Firefox because of the memory leaks. I can't use IE because of the security flaws ( I always uninstall it on all of my installs - and I haven't had a virus on any of my systems with it removed, but when I installed Windows 10 on another machine, and fully updated it and used IE for a few days on the standard, trusted, sites I use [ I don't use facebook, etc... basically a few programming wikis and documentation such as for Microsoft, Garry's Mod, etc... ] a virus did break through - after removing the virus and IE I didn't have an issue on that PC ever again )...
I have been using Edge for the time being, but I'm not a fan of it either...
I'll be taking some time to come up with a viable solution to reposition the items in the list - there has to be a way - and hopefully, if the user who created the Extension Shuffle addon is willing to release the source, I can incorporate the changes into it to make it functional again...
I am a developer with decades of experience - I am an expert in dozens of languages, debugging, standardization, and much more... If there is a way to do it I will find it but because of the limits on time, having a base to work with would be appreciated.
